Good to see you too Nancy! Hope all is well with you :) MQ, That would be great if we could give all newbies a quick glimpse into their own smoke free future! I'm sure folks would find sticking with it a whole lot easier! Unfortunately it's not possible yet so all we can do is share our stories and hope it gives people the faith and patience they need to keep the quit! I know for sure that if I hadn't have found a group where I could read real peoples real stories, I wouldn't be where I am now. :)

Awww thanks guys! I was given some great advice and tips when I quit but the most helpful gems were :- The early uncomfortable days are a only a transitional period to a better life Don't look back, only forward Have a plan in place for when the cravings hit Education on how addiction works I also made a little folder on my phone with loads of helpful links that I could access easily. Knowing what to expect was really helpful too so I could be fully prepared. Being on the forum and seeing other people suceed gave me faith that there was a better life post quit. ..... And there is, there really is! :)
  4. Hey everyone! So sorry I didn't get round to joining you all before now! I have been so busy with life since my (double) quit 11 months ago! I have managed to turn things around completely since I gained freedom from smoking! Many things have changed for me, the biggest being I'm no longer depressed and the 2nd biggest change is that I have finally passed my driving test! This is something I couldn't have afforded before! Quitting has totally changed my life for the better and I'm really really happy I quit! The way I feel now makes the early days worth it and although I found it relatively easy (apart from feeling murderous between days 3 and 26) I certainly don't want to do it again! Finding a support group was something I had not done when I tried to quit previously and I strongly believe that belonging to one this time is what really helped my quit stick so massive thanks for eveyone that was there for me in the beginning! Quitting smoking rocks! :)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
