Hey guys. I'm 20, and started smoking when I was around 13. Pack a day habit began when I was around 17. I've never really tried to quit smoking until the last couple months. I read Allen Carr's book about two months back, and really felt like I could do it. Made it about a day and a half, until I convinced myself I would end up smoking because a smoker friend was coming up for the weekend. I tried to quit a couple times since, but hardly ever made it past a day. I struggle with getting out of my head about it. I end up convincing myself that I don't really want to quit, that I'll feel so much better after I smoke and things can go back to normal. But my "normal" isn't healthy or enabling any sort of growth.
Just had my last cigarette about an hour ago. I'm optimistic this time. I've been trying to reflect on why I smoke (besides the nicotine addiction, of course). Found out most of my triggers and where the stem from. Super excited to meet some people who are going through the same thing, or have already been there. Please send me your wisdom! c:
