Fell asleep in the chair last night

 Yeah, it happens.

Sometimes I fall asleep in an upright position watching television.

Usually if I fell asleep with my feet on the floor they would be a bit swollen when I woke up the next morning. Not so much today. Think this is anything to do with not smoking?

I can't say that the lack of swelling in your feet has anything to do with quitting.  It may, but I don't really know.

However, if your feet often felt cold when you were smoking...quitting goes a long way in combating cold feet.  And in this weather, that is a big plus.

Hello Octain:

Check out the resource page http://whyquit.com/joels-videos/does-smoking-cause-my-headaches/

I know its titled about headaches but the issue of improving symptoms for many different conditions after a person quits smoking is covered.

As far as for better blood flow being a good thing--that is an understatement. Nicotine's vasoconstrictive action has consequences that effect many organs of the body and can be downright dangerous and even deadly. The page http://whyquit.com/joels-videos/heart-and-circulatory-diseases/ explains many of these issues.

We hear of ways smoking effects the body all the time....it could possibly be...everyone is different...

I would look at it ,as a definite result...now...what about the mouth dropping snoring ????? Whahaha...

I don’t notice my snoring. Maybe cause I’m asleep, lol

I did however ask my wife  if she’s noticed me being a quieter sleeper. Says she hasn’t noticed.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
