Pokemon Go

Recommended Posts

So, I grew up with Pokemon and decided to download this new Pokemon Go app. Basically you walk around collecting pokemon. And I really mean walk around. I walked around the block in my neighborhood and caught pokemon, even crossing the street to do so. It's been a great distraction. So now when I go out for my walk, I open the Pokemon Go app and search for pokemon as I'm walking. I even walked around the house looking for one, and around my therapist's parking lot trying to get a scyther. But I couldn't find it. :( I found one just as my therapist called me in before then too, and showed her the app. Best part is it's free! Well, there's apparently coin you can buy, but on the site it said you can earn it other ways. The park by my house is also considered a landmark, and it's just around the corner from my house, so I can get free items (at what's called pokestops, and you have to walk close to it wherever it is in the park) and possibly pokemon eggs from there. And you have to walk around a lot to hatch an egg. On a screenshot I saw one that took two kilometers (might be miles in the American version). So I'm using this along with my fitbit that's coming in the mail to get out and walk more. Places like malls also have places where you can get items. My therapist's office was a pokestop, and so was the building next to it.

Just something to throw out there if you want something to entertain yourself while you exercise. It's been a lot of fun! Okay, I'm going to finish my bao now and head out to find more pokemon.

Aww... I'm sorry, Bday. There's apparently an apk out there if you can find it so you can play, I think. At least, it worked for some people. I hope it'll come out in your country soon though.

Found a apk , gona test it out :P

I used to play Farmville, Cityville, Chefville  and candy crush saga back in the day.  I am afraid to try any new game.   :)

I used to be into Farmville too. To the point of paying money for it. Me and my husband would actually buy each other gifts for the game. Same with Farmville 2. But at least with this game you're walking everywhere.

I wish I could find the clip, but I can't.  They were telling about how it works, and how much fun it is!  The last thing they said was that it's addictive!  (she was laughing when she said that)

It is addictive. lol But it's nice to have something to distract me when I have craves, and I've walked a whole lot more. I actually went on a 2m walk to hatch an egg out with dad. And I hatched a 2km egg just recently with a Pikachu in it. Pretty fun. Though we just drove around to pick up some pokestops, too, and that was fun enough to keep me distracted, and I still went for a walk afterward to fight off the craves. No pokemon on the walk, though. The app froze on me twice while I was walking.
