The Blessings Continue

Today I saw Jurassic World with my 10 year old niece and the experience illustrated the many blessings of being a non-smoker.

1) We drove in a smoke free car listening to music together...I didn't feel resentful that I couldn't smoke on the way or guilty because I gave in and smoked

2) I sat closely next to a stranger on my left and I didn't feel self-conscience that I was ruining her experience by my smoky smell.

3) My niece held my arm and put her head on my shoulder and I knew I smelled clean and healthy (not musky with stale smoke).

4) I was able to enjoy the entire movie without jonesing to get outside and smoke.

5) When the movie finished I took my niece to the bathroom because she needed to pee - I didn't resent her for this like I would have if I needed to get outside ASAP

I'm so grateful for these developments.  I want to be an example to the people in my life who feel trapped and burdened by this addiction.  Quitting is POSSIBLE!!!  A new life is possible.  It's quite amazing and I feel blessed.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
