I just want to know what helped you while nicotine left your body.

For me it was water and long walk

George,

This is a thread about your first days Nicotine FREE.

You are still using Nicotine and keeping yourself addicted. 

 

The point here is ridding yourself of nicotine completely so you can be Free,

Of getting through craves WITHOUT any nicotine at all.

 

This is perfectly do-able and something you will need to face at some point.

Great advice, but if i drink whisky i for sure want to smoke lol

I figured I'd add what's worked for me so far,  on day 5 nicotine free.  I repeatedly tell myself I'm a non smoker,  over and over throughout the day,  remind myself how each inhale of smoke really feels because it is not pleasant.  Lots of water and diet root beer (before today was diet Pepsi,  trying to reduce caffeine). String cheese!!! Coloring pages, adult level,  to keep my hands busy. Cinnamon toothpicks!! They are my favorite in the car,  roll down the windows and chew.  

 

Daily commitment to NOPE.

I honestly think I could clean my entire house with a toothbrush!  Anything to stay busy.  But me and the Lord are getting it done...one day at a time.  NOPE!

 

I guess I’ll just stay busy trying to get this daggone Ticker I made to show up.

Do you have view signatures enabled? If not then you'll need to enable that. It's in your account settings, click on signature and you'll see it towards the top of the window that opens :)

On mobile devices we can click the bars at the upper right on our browser and you should see something along the lines of use desktop site. Click on that and see if that works. Otherwise, I really don't know since we can all see it lol

Well, as long as you guys can see it, I guess that’s all that matters.  Believe me, I know how long it’s been, so I don’t need to see it.    LOL

I see your ticker on my laptop.  I don't usually see tickers on my phone though.

 

The most important thing is your are doing well in your quit.  Congratulations on 15 days smoke free.  Keep up the awesome work!

I just stopped.. it helped me before to record the HOUR I stop and not the DAY..so the second day of smoking dont seem so loong..so I stopped at 9pm and tomorrow 9pm my second day will already start!

Hey @Annien, your quit starts the minute you put out your last cigarette. Mine's 10:15 pm. We have tickers here that will keep track of all the time, cigarettes NOT smoked and money saved since you quit. Its great inspiration and also shows what you're giving up should you relapse.

Hello, I just found this. I have been smoking for 30 years. I used to chew tobacco for 20 years and found a support group chat room back in 2008 that was very effective in helping me quit chewing, but I ended up getting hooked back on cigarettes and I am desperate to quit. I think a support group is in order for me.
