Smarten up Pig!!


You remember watching your father die with a plastic tube shoved down his throat to prolong his life? Do you remember cleaning your sister's house of the dark brown nicotine stains that covered her ceilings and walls after she had died from smoking? Even you as a smoker you couldn't believe how bad that was. Through all that you continued to smoke and ignore the clear evidence that smoking kills in a very ugly way.


Then years later you somehow decided to quit. You did something they never were able to do and now you're even thinking of throwing that away - don't you dare do that. Do anything but that!!

My time in this world is limited but what I can do with that time is not.

This is my one & only quit attempt. If I relapse, I will die a smoker!

No there's not just one.
It's not cozy to smoke, or tough... What smoking really is... Is nog Just one but the whole package, coughing and cursing as combined with asthma attacks.
THAT is smoking.
Not cool. It's way cooler to be a non smoker.
It doesn't help to smoke when I feel like shut Caz when I also smoke I not only feel like shit but my mouth taste like shit too... Plus the guilt, self hatred and disappointment.
All not cool.
Be cool and don't smoke.

Did you ever think it won't happen to you? It does, smoking kills! Don't learn it the hard way. Stick with NOPE.

You've come this far. Look at all the times you've literally cheated death from many incidents. You won't be so lucky next time if you choose to smoke.

Think of mom dying of COPD before your eyes in the hospital, angry 'til the end at you for not allowing her to smoke with her oxygen tank running. Both grandmas died from heart issues related to smoking. Think of all the people you've known who have died of smoking: aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends.

You quit for, what, over 20 yrs? And you chose to start again a couple years back. Stress is no excuse. You did quit before and you're doing it again. Done. Yay, you! You're stronger than you give yourself credit.

The awful stench. Ugh! Who needs that?

Please be kind to yourself and remember the risks of heart attacks, strokes, cancer and all the rest. You want to be around for your kids.♡

Now, move on with your day and remove smoking as an option from your mind, body, and soul.

Hang in there, you are tougher than this.


Remember all the times you had to go to the store because you were out of cigarette.


Remember making your friends and family wait for you, while you smoked a cigarette, before you got in the car, after a meal at the restaurant, before getting on a flight.


Remember having to find a place to smoke.  Walking long ways at the hospital because you had to get off the property completely, then having to smoke two in a row because it took so long to get to the smoking place.  All the while Mum was in her room waiting for you to get back.


Remember missing moments because you had to find someplace to smoke.


Remember thinking and planning about when and where you could smoke for every occasion, road trips, plane trips, movies.


Take a look at all the money you have saved.

This is the only good thing you have ever done for yourself.  Put all that garbage in the past and be the person you have wanted to be.  Be a shark, Shark's don't swim backwards, only forward.  


Give it a minute and think about it.  It will pass.


You made the right decision. Every day that passes will get better.

The first six months of my quit, I provided several friends with a script to bark out at me when I gave them the signal.  "Quit being a pu$$y!" was one of the key lines they would yell at me when I was fighting off a strong craving.  Brought a smile to my face when I read your advance SOS.  :angry:-----> :D

Holly - you have made the decision to quit. Here are some of the reasons: your children, to have more time and to be more active and engaged. You have read Allan Carr's book and were reminded that to keep a healthy happy frame of mind is key. When you say you are going to have your last cigarette, you really need to keep your word. When you prolong that process, it is going to take so much more time and energy away from you. Don't fall into the trap of feeding the "little monster." It is not doing anything but hurting you. Take a step back and breathe. You can beat this. You are worthy.

Holly- as much as you think you know what's best for yourself - you don't if you plan on going back to smoking. There is no such thing as just one cig. There is no such thing as "a better time than now." You will always have stress. You need to learn how to cope with that without going back to nicotine. Our body is a beautiful thing, it can repair itself. The sooner you realize that, the sooner your body will heal. You can do this. The fog is temporary. 

PS Deep breathing really does help!
