Good morning fellow NOPErs on this World Scleroderma Day... World wot day?, Now she's just making shit up....but today is World Scleroderma Day...it is an auto immune disease which is characterised by a hardening of skin and tissue...the lungs are particularly susceptible with fibrosis and pulmonary arterial hypertension....so it's auto immune, the body attacks itself, kinda like skin (and soft tissue) arthritis to be real basic...and it runs in families, well it runs in mine....now here's the thing, the 'science' is all over the shop, smoking can trigger it, make it progress quicker, decrease remission episodes, it has no impact (hmm a disease that affects your lungs not impacted by smoking, who funds this research??)....so hear is wot I can tell ya (from my aunties, cousins, sisters)....it hurts, ya cold all the time, and you know what, it's just anecdotal but in my family everyone who has it, bar my sister, is or was a smoker and all bar 2 were smokers when they first had an episode...so just saying boys but speshly girls who are lurking you have a relo with Scleroderma...might be time to kick the habit.

NOPE.... Time to put me first

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
