OK so this is a bit deceptive, I mean there are a whole cast of others who could be placed in here as options... and I was just going to go for the big two (Elvis & the Beatles) , but I don't really like either so needed a third option so I could actually vote myself... don't get me wrong, both acts were influential in the evolution of music, both had good songs...but both have been spoiled for me by others... so there were lots I could have chucked in there I chose Dylan because why Elvis might have freed our bodies, and the Beatles may have friend our souls Dylan freed our minds. But it was hard to pick a third, options included Johnny Cash who got a nod because of his influence on all genres including rap, The Stones, ACDC, The Saints, The Ramones, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Nirvana, Django Rienhardt, David Bowie... and about 100 others I haven't mentioned. The reality is there were 2 key acts that dominated the centuary, Elvis or the Beatles... that said Dylan is the most successful song writer so he has earned his place in this list...

 

So who will it be... will it come down to the Brits v the Yanks... will the Dylan rule the day.
