Welcome back Opah! Happy to see you are trying this quitting thing again. You know the drill and the best thing you can do is refresh your knowledge about this addiction by reading as much here that you can. Stay active on the board and remember all the things you've been through and use those as motivation this time around.

Hope you can find a way to make it stick this time Opah :)

Welcome back, Opah.  I'm sorry you relapsed but stick around...participate, read, reach out for help if you need it.  Do what you have to do as long as you don't smoke.  Things will get better once you put this horrible addiction behind you.

There was not a DAY 1 in my 50 or so previous quits where I wasn't miserable.  The real joy and freedom comes when you realize that you'll never need to go through DAY 1 ever again.  Hope this is your last DAY 1 Opah.  Welcome back.

Well Hi Opah.  I guess you have been down this road before.  I too tried quitting many times but was finally able to succeed with the help of the members on the forum.  I hope this will finally be your final attempt because life without the addiction is awesome.  We are here to support you.

Thank you,

Made it through the morning Drive traffic was such I really didn't have much time to think about smoking, first part of the morning at work is managable, enough coffee, Ricola's and busy work to navigate my self away from the PATIO.

The next four days xhould be a really good deal, Taking the Wife up to my Wildlife refuge Friday Saturday and Sunday.  I never smoked around her when it was just us and had no problem doing so.

Isn't that wierd, I could go Hunting for 4 or 5 days without smokes, I could be with my wife kids or grand kids and not smoke, but now that in my head I have said this is it, aint going to smoke no more,  the mind, the adict mind is fighting back.    Well all I can say is I have started this Ball rolling a several good notes, the Holidays were good to me. started out with My usual bah humbug and the crap that comes with that atitude, the things that go wrong and the when will this end sinario, then the Day before Christmas The axis changed in my universe, things I couldn't make work finally did ! found super deals on stuff I mean it just became

Opah, I just wanted to send you a word of encouragement.

YOU WILL NOT SMOKE. FOR ANY REASON. BECAUSE THE CIGARETTES LIE AND THEY KILL. AND YOU ARE STRONGER AND SMARTER THAN THEY ARE.

I was fortunate enough to quit, got my year in, in March 2018. And a fellow quitter named Buckster was so instrumental in my quitting. He encouraged me and inspired me and supported me and he posted one of the best helps I ever received, a link to

I mean, come on, Mel Gibson all kilted and sexy telling me to get my freedom on.....? A no brainer. I'm in. And I did it.

And it was in no small part due to a fellow quitter named Buckster, who understood what we were up against and what might help. I will be forever grateful.

Opah, I wish for you the same support and success. You can be strong and do this, and life is so much more wondermous on the other side of smoking.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
