Fantastic job Kdad! You are officially through that most difficult 1st Month :) Be sure to reward yourself for all the hard work you've done successfully because rewards are important!

You may not be finished this quit journey yet but you have established a fabulous base to build your forever quit on. Congratulations :)

Congratulations @Kdad for being one month smoke free.

That's the worst month done and dusted.... you should be so proud of how far you have come. Make sure you do something special to spoil yourself for your first month anniversary. Awesome work, KTQ.

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! Can't say I could have done it without your support. Today I had to drive past a rest area I used to smoke at. It was definitely a trigger but I was able to get past it. You never know were triggers are hiding. I am having difficulty with the reward piece. I don't really like candy and I don't want to eat chocolate. My budget for rewards is tight as well. Any ideas?

Well according to your ticker you have saved $268.78 so far! Maybe just a kickback relax day? That's a reward, or pay your neighbor kid ten bucks to mow your lawn this week to give you the week off from doing it?

Is there a Kmom? Kfriendwithbenefits? Drive out somewhere with an open sky and watch the sunset... Getting frisky is good cheap fun?

One reward at my house was moving a 2nd tv to the living room so me and husband could co-op on xbox one games. I regret it to this day but I do love the time we spend together.

Milk shakes?

My motto is: "Try something new"

The best things in life are free and the really fun stuff is cheap.

Rewards are REALLY important, Kdad.  They help re-train your brain to release dopamine.

Think of what you like, what you want, what makes you smile and make the effort to physically reward yourself with this.

Put on some music and dance, go out and dance.

Pour yourself a bath or take a shower and use all the hot water.  Put your towels in the clothes drier and have nice warm fluffy towels.

Take a walk.  Take the time for yourself.

Change out your bed linen and take a luxurious nap.

Call someone who is distant that you love.

Go to a museum and sit with some art that makes you feel good.

Make yourself a really great dinner or save up and go to a great restaurant.

Buy yourself a new brush or comb or ?

Go to the thrift store and find something that means something to you.

Plant a seed and watch it grow like your quit.

Buy a book you have been wanting to read

or go to a used book store and find something unexpected.

You know best what you would fancy and it needn't cost a bundle.

I so know what Pork Chop is gunna suggest as a reward ;) ..... so I am gunna say re-watch your favourite movie... even if everyone else in the house hates it .... its your reward, you earned it... (in my house sport movies are banned.... I have no idea why, that is like the best movie genre..... so I always find excuses to reward myself by watching a sport movie... any sport, any movie.... although my kid does like Remeber The Titans so that one isn't as frowned upon).... declare it kdad day and you get to pick what you want to watch.

Made myself a great fish dinner with wine as a reward. Good stuff! The kid and wife hate fish so it was a solo meal.

Yes! That's what we're talking about.

Doesn't need to be fancy or expensive. Just something special that you will enjoy :)
