Holy Smoke!!!

I had a craft show today, sometimes if it's a show close to her house, my sister will come halfway through the show to give me a bathroom break -

(and used to be a smoke break, too).

She came in and sat down & the smoke smell nearly gagged me!

I looked around because I felt like my fellow crafters sitting beside & behind me were probably ready to hurl also.

Normally it doesn't bother me at all.

I was actually embarrassed.

The smell dissipated after awhile, but YUCK.

I sure am glad I never smelled like that!!!!!! smileys-wink-252022.gif

It's funny for me because if I walk past someone who is smoking, the smell, as long as it's from a reasonable distance, is kind of pleasant to me. Maybe it's just a reminder of what used to be for myself? But like your reaction at the craft show, if someone comes into a room I'm in after they have been smoking, the smell if strong and grosses me out. I guess that stale smell of smoke is what I really don't like. Of course I was oblivious to it when I smoked - lol. One more benefit of quitting :)

I am not shy about telling people they smell awful with cigarettes.  I don't go up to strangers but, people I know I will certainly tell.

Why should the truth be withheld ?  To save someone's feelings while their obnoxious odor invades my nose ?  Truth is just truth, it is not a judgement.

pfffttttt.

Ugh... I was at the orthopedist with my daughter last week, and we sat down in the last chairs left in the waiting room, and the guy next to me reeked so terribly from smoke that I had to breathe through my mouth until he left.  Gross...

Eww Beazel unfortunately we all may have smelt like that or similar at one point. Glad we don’t anymore.

Sadly though peoples' lifestyles do carry a certain "fragrance". Drunkards, smokers, stoners, just whatever.

Yes, stoners too. Stoners smell like someone ate a skunk and spent the night farting out the odor.

What is strange though is that smokers who are otherwise clean (like showering each day) tend to not smell as bad. When it is some gross-ass nasty haired hasn't changed clothes this month looking slob, THOSE are the ones that typically stench the worst of tobacco.

But yeah sometimes i would smell some nasty smoker and think, "Do I smell that bad?"

That alone should be reason enough to quit smoking. Not be STANKIN'

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
