  1. I'm sorry that you are having a hard time. There were quite a few rough points in my quit.

I know that the last thing that you want to hear is "hold on, it passes" or "hold on, it gets better" but it really does. There are going to be periods during this journey where you are stopped in your tracks by cravings, it could be just one or a whole day of it. It can happen at a point where you thought that craving and thoughts should be over. The important thing to remember is that it does pass and a time does come where you don't even think about it, at all.

  2. This quote got me through so many hard times. Especially in the beginning. When you are wading through the first month grasping on to your quit for dear life just think of how far you have come. Think of how hard it was to get there. There is no such thing as "just one day" because that day was a series of battles fought, and battles won.

You are doing a fantastic job Indigo.

  3. Oh Jackie. I know that you are walking through the muck right now and that you have so much on your plate. I wish that I could help and take some of it away. I am super proud of you. You are handling all of what you are going through and giving that bastard nicotine the salute.

I know that you can do this because you are strong and amazing!

  4. I still think of it too when I get pissed... but... as you saw on fb I came in close contact with a smoker yesterday. She stunk and I mean freakin' stunk. Every she coughed you heard that rattle, holy sh*t it was just horrible. It was such a turnoff and I feel awful that it once was me who stunk that way but couldn't smell myself.

Screw what judgmental people think, they are no better than you, and you shouldn't be made to feel bad about your life choices.

  5. So sorry for your loss. Losing them is the hardest part.

    The Rainbow Bridge

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

    For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

  6. Excellent blog post. You have got this just remember that it is only going to get easier and you only have to go through this crap once! I will say this you need to remember the bad times during it, keep it in your mind, and I tell this this because if or when you have a moment you need to REMIND yourself how bad it was and that you never want to go through it again. :D

You are making me super proud!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
