It will pass Steven, the first month is the hardest of them all but it really does go by fast. Anxiety is normal and many of us have dealt with that. If the anxiety gets to be too much you can always give your Dr a call and tell him you've quit. A lot of times they can prescribe a temporary med to ease the anxiety. Or you can do like I did and have a beer or eat an edible lol.

All of us here are proof of just how doable quitting is so no need to be nervous, we got your back :)

Yeah my doctor prescribed something for me for the anxiety when I told him I was quitting.

I quit a week ago and relapsed after 5 days. Very disappointed in my self. I did start using the patches today. Going to try again

Congratulations on 3 days quit. You need to quit for yourself first and foremost. Everything else is all bonus.

  4. Well I had a visit to an ENT doctor this morning and he gave me the long face....Surprise, surprise...Told me I needed to quit dipping now! Well, I told him I had been quit for a measly 3 days...Scared me enough to know I am done with it that's for sure....He did say he saw no signs of throat or mouth cancer though that was good...But told me if I did not stop I was going to be in trouble down the road.....Life just keeps getting shitty and shittier everyday.

On s side note quitting was for my wife who is disabled and unable to do somethings herself....It's her I am concerned about not me.

You don't need to use nrt cheque. You could just use normal stuff...um maybe that cinnamon stuff cos it has a bit of a bite to it. The action of chewing is still met without the nasty poisons and drugs.

    Your talking about this:

why wait and experience the added stress of anticipation ?

if you sincerely want to quit, QUIT NOW and be done with it.

Educate yourself about your nicotine addiction.

Remove all paraphernalia from your environment.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
