  1. I think I am still a newbie. I am 8 mos smoke free. I am amazed that I don't much think of smoking anymore. It takes me getting really angry when I think about sabotaging myself and going back there. I realize they are just self-destructive thoughts and childish! I love being smoke free and am so grateful for all my new friends who helped me get to this point.
  2. Ankush, you are doing great. I think the pledge is a great tool to solidify your quit. You will eventually be able to redirect those thoughts. KTQ!
  3. Dizzy, sounds like you are moving along great. Snarky is a nice way to describe it. I was just a plain old witch with a "b". This too shall pass. I am so glad you were able to post today and tell us how you are doing. Try posting, even if you are down. I found it so helpful to stay close to the forum. They were always able to build me up and make me smile. 4 weeks is awesome. It just keeps getting better.
  4. There is a big empty space without you here. You are really missed.
  5. We all need to learn to say "No". My husband is always running around looking for tools our son has borrowed. I have decided we need a sign out sheet, with a due date back and a fine if late!
  6. Nope because.... It is a thing of the past
  7. So sorry Jimmy. I am definitely sending prayers your way. Reading this, I am so grateful that I was able to find the help here that I needed to quit.
  8. Being honest and facing the difficulties is important. Just remember to try and post an SOS before you smoke. We will do our best to talk you through it. I promise that once you get the nicotine out of your system, you can change your way of thinking. You will be forever grateful to be rid of this addiction.

  11. Beautiful Catlover. I can't do the hiking with my husband right now, because he needs knee replacement. We are counting down the months (May) when he can retire and get it fixed.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
