Oh Linda. I am so sorry you are having such a tough day. You have come too far to cave and go back to smoking. That cigarette is not going to change anything about this day. I actually think that if you smoke it, you will feel worse. I know you are stronger than that crave. Go back and read all your thoughts of the day. There is so much wisdom there for you.
  17. Welcome Chris. Just one does not work when you are an addict. I am so glad you are ready to quit again. Hang close to the forum and let's get this quit going. You did it before and you can do it again.
  18. Unfortunately @Linda and @AceWhite we are all addicts and will always have that occasional crave of having a smoke. Just know that giving into that crave is what keeps you hooked on the addiction. Always know that your are stronger than that crave. You have conquered the toughest part of quitting, so breath deep and remember that you are not going to let that addiction control you anymore!
  19. I bet that coffee tasted great. Not only does it taste better because you quit smoking, but fresh ground beans makes the best coffee. It is going to take a while to change those old patterns of thinking. Smoking dominated a big part of our lives. Keep changing it up and making life more interesting. The biggest reward will be freedom from the addiction!
  20. Welcome Linda. What a pretty name you have. I am a Linda too and there is another Linda here. You have a great quit started. The first couple of weeks are the toughest. If you've made it through those, you can definitely go the distance. There is a great group of people here from around the globe. We are here to support you along your journey. Hang around and get to know us all. You definitely can do this.
  21. All of us past smokers have felt like that BmoreRaven. Some of us have even wasted more years than you! I remember obsessing about my breathing when I first quit. My anxiety about it did ease as I progressed along my own journey. I tried to imagine my body healing along the way. I too think you should check with your physician and make sure all is well. 132 days quit is awesome. Stay committed and don't look back. You have gotten through some of the tough days on your own. We are here to help support you along the way!
  22. Welcome Reynjoe. It is never to late to quit and it is definitely doable. Make this forum your new addiction. There is plenty of information, games and friendship here. I tried many different clinical ways to quit and was not successful until I landed here. This is your time to be enjoying life. Why not find freedom from this awful addiction. You can do it!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
