  1. I am from Ohio. I know it seems tough to quit in stressful times but it is the best time. Quitting gives you so much power and self esteem. The people here become wonderful friends and are here to support you through the down days.
  2. J863 you do have that resolve. You just have to keep your mind on the prize (quitting smoking). You are concentrating on that cigarette you haven't had. Five days is a huge accomplishment and you should be very proud. That addiction is going to work on your self esteem trying to break you. I am sure you have more of your grandfather in you than you think. You can do this. Without realizing it, one day you will wake up and realize you no longer need a cigarette. Just keep that quit going.
  3. How awesome is that? You've got this lady. I hope you celebrate and reward yourself!
  4. Congratulations Mona. I thought the first month was the toughest. Now just keep looking ahead and don't look back. Every day you get stronger. Keep that quit going.
  5. Welcome Intown. So glad you found us. We are here to help you on this journey. This wonderful group of people know how to lift you up and get you through. Stay close and get to know us.
  6. Jeff, we are close in the same periods of our life. I have been retired for three years and my husband retired this year. Being able to finally quit has really given me hope that we are going to enjoy our retirement and hopefully not dealing with health issues. It also feels good not wasting money on something that was killing me but spending it on travelling. There are so many positives to quitting. You can do it and stay quit.
  7. Crafting, Crafting, Crafting and making masks. I find during difficult times, I do best if I keep my mind busy. I started with making a few cute t-shirts for some seniors graduating from high school, that weren't able to have the usual ceremony or party because of the pandemic. What started as a thoughtful gesture, turned into so many people wanting them. So know that I have not forgotten you all.
  8. Welcome Jeff. We all have been through what you are going through. I smoked for 42 years and tried everything to quit. Something special about this place worked for me. Stick around play some games and get to know us. We are here to help guide you along this journey.
  9. Oh Jo. You sure have had you fill. Know I am praying for you and hope you are feeling better soon.
  10. I think Maddie is going to be tiny and petite. I think she will be 7lbs 2oz.
  11. Hi Manny. 3 years quit is awesome. The older you get, the more you go to the bathroom at night. If you are concerned, I would definitely see your physician. Don't overthink your symptoms and worry because that can cause anxiety.
  12. Cbdave, sending prayers and good vibes. Please take care and follow all the doctors instructions.
  13. You are doing great. The first month is tough. Keep that quit going.
  14. Well Lovecollies I am glad you found us. After all of my failed attempts, this forum was the place for me to find success. The people here knew exactly what I needed to carry me along my journey. Stay close to the forum and reach out when you need us. We are here to help.. You can do this.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
