  1. Have a need to converse this morning, I am heading into week two WTF ?  I think been awhile, HUMMMM  what are the three weeks ?

WTF, WTH and ??  well I do know these are two significant weeks, one is all emotional and the other is the fog and brain dump.

The withdraws went well kept myself busy, was around my non-smoking family and home   ???? question I have never smoked inside

any of my homes, even back then just didn't like the stale smell it left, plus the wife would have lite something under my Arse if I had.

OK question answered was thinking why, the wife thing answered that.

Did you smoke in your Home ?    the reason I did not so it gave me a safe haven to be this weekend in fact for ever, never have and never

will smoke in my house.    Outside was a different story,  thus my two hard hitting Craves came when I was work on my truck,  in the past

when I was thinking kicking a issue or problem around,  I would kick back, smoke and wonder into the back of my mind and resolve  what

    ever the issue was.

This time NOPE strategy had to prevail, I had to come up with some other way to reach deep into my mind and run the scenarios and possibilities.

Enter "THE BRUCE"  my son in law, my Hunting Bud, and confidant, we laid under the truck and he would kick something out, I would kick something out Back and forth until we had a fairly solid plan,  No smoking required.

And mowing the lawn.  I really Hate Yard work, Painting and concrete work,  But the BRUCE wasn't going to Mow my Lawn for Me, so had to tough it out.

Now on issue with the lawn is last week I was draining the pool, to do some sealing and the wife wanted to paint it, well lst week end I had the car and truck on the lawn to was and came very close to backing into this huge sink hole !!!   in the middle of my yard   OK off subject if you all want to hear this one I have pics and will take it to social.

OK back to  Finding new ways to get passed the old triggers and one of them is to just get off of your duff and get what needs to be done done!!!!1

Buckle down say NOPE and go get the lawn mowed without falling into the sink hole.\

and Last but not least this !!   I  Write ,  Read about what is ahead  which I believe is Brain Drain, scrambled thoughts and a what feels like a never ending fog.

Hopefully due to the short term I fed this addiction all the above will not be as harsh, Dense or strong as my prior quit, smoked many a year and thousands of cigarettes,  This time was way way shorter and a small fraction of cigarettes.

OK need to run around a bit,  Later

  2. OOOOOOOOO RIGHTTY NOW:

four days rising, withdraws should be done.  Had some urges and one or two triggers but all were managed.

Got The Weathers Carmel for the driving and while at work, I carry them in the same pocket I normally kept my smokes in and if I get a urge I pop a Carmel.   That sweet Carmel taste  really does the trick, and the fact that is sugar free I shouldn't gain back the weight I lost.

So here starts another day, another week,  I am proud and determined to get back to the smoke and nicotine Free life.   I have a Wild Boar hunt coming up in the next couple weeks and not stinking like smoke ready can be a benefit, being able to breath and not gasping for Breath is also a very good thing and being able to climb into the altitude with the thin air and not getting dizzy is the best.

Fresh clean mornings standing on a ridge, sun starts to rise and you hear the dew crackling as it freezes from the sudden 10 plus degree drop in temperature, the sun crests the mountains and a million Rainbows shoot out from all directions. the valley below looks as if a child sat down and drew rainbows all over a beautiful land scape.  the rainbows dissipate and the valley clears, you can smell the trees and vegetation.

I love being smoke free, I love the senses you recover (Taste and Smell)  Yes Lin I do plan on this being my sticky quit, I love the Opah I become, My family loves the Opah I become.   Want to get sticky with me ?

  3. That was the lesson learned Berry,  I believed that after long enough the addiction was lost and set out to prove that.

it amazed me how fast receptors turned back on and old programs I thought were long dead and gone started replaying.

I do not want to be a smoker and now have excepted there is no in between  I am or I am not a non- smoker.

I choose to not be a smoker, I choose health and longevity,  I choose to be a active part in my Grand children's lives

, no wheezing and huffing and puffing.  We are going to run, play, fish and hunt for years to come.

  4. I really screwed my self, had a great quite going and got cocky in No Mans Lands.   Thought I could just smoke one and I did for a little while, then another and another up to yesterday where I was smoking Daily.  So Lesson learned

I am back to the hard candies and telling myself NOPE and  Not Again. Not looking forward to this,  I believe it is going to be tougher this time than the last.

Smoked my last yesterday about 4pm and have my start date for today, figured having a totally clean day is a good way to start.

Jill, Lyn, Dooreen, Johnny  Thank you for the friendly invite into your community.    OFF and Running

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
