  1. Hi Richard. I remember early in my quit I was so caught up in my quit I was forgetting to take my anxiety meds. And when I realised I was like oh maybe I can manage ok without them! But within a few days my anxiety was through the roof! So went back on them. And felt much better for it. I normally remind people to remember to take any medication they normally take! As a quit is all consuming and it can be easy to forget. Is there is reason you are cutting back on your meds on purpose? If you are feeling crappy I'd maybe not cut back. Or maybe talk to your doctor about it. But I appreciate you know you best and what's best for you. How are you feeling today? Hope it's a better one for you 😉

  2. What's on your gratitude list for today then?

    Mine's are;

    1. My family. Had a lovely Sunday lunch and it's great fun catching up with everyone.

    2. My comfortable bed. I got a nice lie in this morning and I just love my bed so much. Ok I admit it, I also got a wee siesta after lunch ?

    3. Time alone. My hubby has been out since 3pm at the football and it's nice having the house to myself for a few hours. He 'll be home soon talking nonsense no doubt ?

    I really enjoyed thinking about my gratitude list for today. It might be tricky doing it every day or lots of repeats. But it's nice thinking about positive stuff, so thanks for that ?

  3. Yes, absolutely. Around a week prior to my quit date 3 people I know got diagnosed with cancer. One skin, one throat and one lung.

    The one with lung cancer a young under forty mum. The penny dropped. I was no longer in denial.

    So I quit on a whim but I had no wool pulled over my eyes anymore. The phrase smoking kills is not just words, it's actually true!

    That young mum died weeks later. The other two are fine.

    It was no longer being in denial that made this one work for me. I have a good life, I don't wana die. It's plain obvious now but omg so strange that you don't really realise this when you are smoking.

  4. I can see you are learning and that's great to see. So Friday is your quit date? I think this blog will be a useful outlet for you and it will help you in your quit. So please keep blogging.

    Relaxation is very important. I know it sounds contradictory but I exercise to relax. It chills me out, takes away stress and helps me sleep. Even a nice walk outside is relaxing. Have a think or a plan what you can do to relax as it is important.

  5. Awww your hubby is a cracker sunny. I remember one quit i was day 14 and it was a friday night and we were out drinking. I said to hubby i realllly feel like smoking, but i really was just expressing myself and maybe looking for a bit of encouragement - i absolutely was not thinking of buying fags. But my hubby said....why dont you just get ten fags!!! And ten fags i got! And that quit was over. Thats lovely your husband supported you and the great folk here too. Glad you are still going strong sunny ???

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
