  1. Wow that's a first I've heard of that Angeleek, glad you're feeling better now. My symptoms were insomnia, foggy head, bleeding gums and my tongue burned for about a week while it was shedding the top coat to become nice and pink again. I also had a month or so of worse shortness of breath which ironically was the exact reason I quit to begin with!

I mainly ate lots of sweets. I was hooked on soft peppermint puffs for a whole year lol. For my gums I used a waterpik and it was probably a good month or so before they quit bleeding. The insomnia was probably the most frustrating and I would take an OTC sleep aid a couple  nights a week just to get some sleep.

  2. Welcome Betty, sorry about your relapse. Just shows us that this addiction is always on the back burner looking for a way in. That must have been an awful shock to have that woman contact you and I'm really sorry that happened to you. Just remember that the best way to get back at them is to be your best self, smoke free and healthy.

Glad you found us, we can support you however much you need or want. We also have a great socializing section that helped me big time at keeping my mind busy on other things so check them out for sure 😊

  3. Welcome @Angeleek and congratulations on 44 days nicotine free. You are very lucky to not have suffered serious issues by using both nicotine gum and smoking. That's so dangerous to your health!

NRT's are meant to be temporary.

A lot of us suffer some level of depression upon quitting and it's usually only temporary but if it's really bothersome you may want to speak to your dr about it. They can sometimes give you a temporary med to help you past it while your body is adjusting.

If you get a chance, introduce yourself in our Introduction forum, we have lots of members who would love to meet you and welcome you 😊

  4. That's pretty common pumpkin and I was lucky in that I didn't experience it but if you want to read posts from others who have, just type zits in the search box.

Oh and this too is only temporary and will pass 😊

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
