Good that you wrote about it. Get through this day any way you can. Can you eat a whole bunch? Can you go to sleep early? Can you get out of the house and go to a movie? How about a manicure or pedicure? Anything to pass the time so you can get to bed and wake up fresh.

I am not sure where you live but I got free patches from the state of Florida's tobacco free site. I just signed up and they sent them to me.....I also avoided smoking areas as much as possible . Out of sight, out of mind

How are you doing

I just saw this. Some times after the first thrill of quitting, the newness wears off and you still have craves and feel tired of holding on. I know you are tough and the thing to do at this point is to hang on. I have heard the term "embrace the suck" which I think may be appropriate. Work through this tough time and you will come through to the other side feeling better.

That's excellent. How do your lungs feel? This is one thing I love about not smoking, clean lungs. For me it got to a point that if I took too deep of a breath, or if I laughed to hard, I would cough. Not anymore

I remember that by my third week I was tired and cranky. I can recall that is when I gave up on my diet which led to my robust figure today. My sense of smell and taste came back. :0 I can recall though that on day 22 I felt a lifting of the worse craves. It is a journey to learn how to be a nonsmoker

I am so upset. :( I loved her! She was so refreshing and seemed to be such a true person, an honest person, which to me is one of the most important things to be. I hope you are in heaven with your sister now and you are free

Good for you. I felt very dizzy and angry when I first quit. However, after I feel weeks I started to feel my lungs clear and I could smell and taste things. So there were a lot of physical sensations in the beginning. Day by day!

It's funny how the whisper comes on and off about how great it was to smoke! "Roll the dice; maybe you can be one of the ones who can smoke without dying from it." Stupid.

what an interesting blog :)

Hi! I quit at 50. I am so happy I did it. I smoked since I was a teen and I kept putting off quitting too. You can do it!

Oh Marti, the horror of it. See if you can get your sisters to do it.why do you have to do everything. If you can get them to do it. A relief for you from these strong strong feelings. :( .....
this has nothing to do with smoking or nonsmoking. Keep this quit golden, your present, your gift, to you, your triumph, your excellent achievement.

Other than not having craves, and being happy that I quit, there is no revelation. I am seeing better skin, more lung power, other physical changes for the better. I am still the same but I don't smoke. I am heavier and quicker to anger or crying. But I can't figure out if this is from the nonsmoking , menopause or general malaise.
Maybe the nonsmoking reveals some emotions that finally can be dealt with. I am going through a mid life crisis myself and maybe it is intensified by giving up my last crutch in a pattern of other things I gave up over time.,

Hi, I see that you survived yesterday. Yey! :) As far as the manicure/pedicure, here in Miami we have a ton of nail places in every shopping center so you can get your nails and feet done for cheap. Not sure where you live....Before they had these places, I would go to a manicurist at a beauty salon................When I first quit I watched a lot of funny youtube videos and used its calming meditation videos to make myself relax and/or fall asleep. I used to fall asleep listening to videos of rain storms or winter storms.
