  1. Hello & Welcome @Keya7989!!!
Sounds like you have a solid plan for your quit date of August 30th.
    Have you tried quitting before?
If so, what were the biggest obstacles?

If not, please write down anticipated triggers & your solution to conquer them.

Check in here often.  Everyday you don’t smoke will be celebrated.

If you smoke- please own up to it. We’ll pick you back up, give you a kick in the ass and cheer you on.

  2. Neat addition to random thread-

I’m going to stowaway on this Train

    Train of quitters

    Fine print defines this route

I ain’t gonna propel us by smoke

I ain’t gonna propel this sacred vessel by alcohol either.

Being a smoker weirdly paralyzed my capacity for self-care. I had a terrible resistance to exercise, seeing doctors, taking time off, etc. I was basically a smoking + working + smoking + working machine. I knew that I was stuck in that rut, but I didn’t realize that smoking was the glue. Now that I’ve quit, I am incrementally beginning to take care of myself in other ways. Seeing doctors, going to bed at a decent hour, staying active and speaking up for what I need are getting a smidge easier.

    Boom!  Whoop! There it is…!!!

  5. Welcome aboard! You’ve made a great decision.  I read Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking and stayed close to a forum like QuitTrain.   I quit Sept 2016. This place will provide much needed support & distraction.   Glad you’re here!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
