  1. I don't think you are being over confident to accept smoking does nothing for you. This is why we suggest educating ourself, you did it before so I just think you were ready... and that's great!!  Don't doubt yourself is my message here. It's great to be sure now, others were sure pretty quick (Bakon, sarge spring to mind) and their quits are solid. xx

  2. Moving is always tough holski....agree with beacon, get a treat plan in place for moving all people (happy or otherwise) in one piece.  It doesn't sound like you've hit the desperation stage of throw it all in a box and sort it the other end...so you've still got this and are calm :)

When you get to that stage, focus on the end game, getting in there and sitting down and yes, just keep swimming. xx

  3. IS there any kind of hobby you could start when you're bored?

Yes patience. Things drop into place in their own time but it can be tough to wait and do the one day at a time but it just does happen:)  I changed my thinking to well I smoked for 25 years so it's gonna take some re-adjustment to be a non smoker, if that helps. xx

  4. Nothing tastes better then freedom and coffee my friend :)

Go Sandy!!  I think it's like that when it's time. You sound like you're just done and that's amazingly good and how it should feel in my humble opinion.

It's time! we will walk with you!

  5. Imagine this.

There is a life out there where you just live and craves are a thought that makes you smile and think, why would I?? Money is strangely more abundant, yet nothing has changed. Boredom means you find something of interest to do, you have more time to fill and it makes you happy.  You start to clean something, and you do it and move on - no need for breaks.

Who needs breaks when you have this much more energy right? You run a few feet, and it's all good, you might even do that shizzle for fun because you can. Someone questions your self worth and you smile and dismiss them - you know how strong you are and your inner depth is apparent to all who have spoken to you on the quit train.

There's some smokers around you, what you feel is pity!! And if you are "good people" (hint, I know you are), you hint and guide them to places to help and respect their choices.

And shhhhh - I didn't think I could quit.... and hey, guess what I did!!! Fear is normal, I say again, it's ok to be afraid. That fear makes you hold the f on!!

((Amy)), we have your back, we always had your back and you just need to let go and trust us. No hiding etc.

  6. Buddy - I am SOOOO bloody excited to see this post!!

I am absolutely, utterly willing you on from here.

Let's see, can you quit - yes. Will it hurt - no. Will it feel tough at time -yes, but that's life mate, if it wasn't smoking it could be work or family etc.

Shhhh, but I didn't know this quit was "the one"  BUT, I did know one of them had to be as quitting was getting to be a habit and I was too ashamed to tell anyone I was trying again! I was plain furious when someone saw my champix as I had tried to hide it for fear of failing and looking like a failure.  (note, the only person who ever matters is you, be responsible for you and you alone!!).

Everything to gain and nothing really to lose??

Either way, keep reading and lurking. Can't smoke forever, it's too grim for you. Constant craves all day every day get exhausting eventually, quitting is easier then that for sure! A bad day is just a bad day, a normal smoking dayis 20+ craves!!  Don't have to be einstein to work out what would be easier longer term!!

    Loves!! xx

  7. Aww Babe, some bits of the quit just plain suck and others feel like you;re surfing a wave. When it feels tough just remember "this too shall pass", I try and think it if I feel really great, to ensure I enjoy the moment and also when things feel plain awful, so I know it will go.

Exercise, shhhhh, but it's not as bad as it sounds!!  I know right, dead weird but it's ok :)  Do you have fitness tv channels? I just recorded some yoga and toning type programs and engage in 20 mins here and there. And upped my walking. Would consider the gym thing but visions of having to take the kids and them pegging it round like nutters rule it out lol.

Do be greatful though and mindful of yourself and what you need. This is an amazing gift you are giving yourself and it's alright to take it one step at a time. xx

  8. Martine Louise are you shi*ting me, you lead, that is what you do - who will you lead with smoking, shall we give Milly or Bella the first cigarette. It will never be ok to be this addict, it is not who you are, you cannot heal people and help people as an addict. Now man the fu*k up and lead like you were born to do. And hugs, you are strong enough to do this no matter what you are facing this moment!  If you doubt yourself go listen to a COPD cough, or read on lung cancer that stole your beloved peter. No more shoulda, coulda, woulda...if I want it I do it...Nathan 2008. Now stop being such a donut! xx

  9. ((holski))

Have a wallow day babe, that's ok. Tomorrow's another day and we pick ourselves up and dust our arses down and attack. Take it day by day.

Believe in yourself too, you are actually already doing it!!

  10. Brilliant...and true!!

I felt pretty bad re my mood swings for my girls, not their fault I was a mardy miserable cow but they did take the odd mood swing....know what...they LOVE that I don't smoke anymore and don't remember for a few weeks I was a bit odd!!

It's ok to not be mother earth right now, just don't smoke and you are giving children more of your life!!  That is much cooler than thinking a smoke would help!

  11. Sounds like a bootstrap and whyquit moment to me Gabby.  There is no romance in a cigarette my friend, that shit will kill you... literally...real painful it's looking from here too. Too not smoke is not at all painful physically.  Please my friend, really work on seeing some positives, financial yes but maybe one more per day??  No matter how big or small. Make yourself write one good thing about quitting every time you post or blog or something?  Loving your devotion to this quit though, good work Gabby.

    xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
