  1. Hope this goes well for you. I'm pretty sure it will because as others have stated, traveling as a smoker, your anxiety level gets ramped up just because you can smoke for a long period of time. You won't be dealing with that now at least. I'm thinking you'll find it easier now.

  2. Yes, the challenging days do still come from time to time, even after that 1st month but .... they don't come as often because you have already figured out how to battle against the addiction. Part of the issue I found was that at your stage of my quit, I was just tired of the constant battles. I did manage to find the strength to keep fighting and that's what YOU now must do! Remember, every battle you do with this monster and win .... it gets weaker and you get stronger. Fight through these tough days. They won't be around at this intensity much longer.

  3. Great job Rory! Your at the 1/4 year smoke free mark now. You are building a very strong quit. Take a little time to celebrate and reward yourself in some way for overcoming all the challenges along the way. It ain't easy but ... it's so worth it in the end :)

If you do get strong craves at three months -

Yeah, that is one of those times when some quitters get these craves out of nowhere. Like christ what is going on?

Power through it. I think that three month mark battle may be the last bad one. I been quit about 6 months and yeah the three month mark was a bitch.

However, you may not have to face it. I imagine plenty of quitters elude that battle somehow.

I honestly don't remember the craves being particularly difficult at 3 month in my quit but ......... that's me. I know you suffered a lot at the 3 month mark. It will be different for everyone and I would venture to say that at 3 months, whether it be strong cravings or just the drudgery of quitting without anymore support from close friends and family, it becomes tough to maintain your focus. Why? Because it's been such a fuc*in' hard job getting to the 3 month point for most. That's why not everyone makes it all the way to the Lido Deck. And, that's why getting to the Lido Deck is SO SPECIAL! It takes commitment & dedication and a lot of self discipline!!

But you know what? Slow and steady wins the day with this quitting thing. Take it one NOPE day at a time, all the way to the Lido Deck if necessary.

That will get you there - guaranteed!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
