    Confessions

catching up on the Quit Train when I should be working LOL
  2. the same thing that stops me from putting my mouth over my tailpipe and inhaling......because that's pretty much what we used to do.... That craving for a smoke really is awful and the freedom from it is still exciting to me when I am in a situation where I couldn't smoke if I wanted to....and thank GOD I don't want to. Life is awesome as a non smoker!
  3. thanks for sharing! I really miss his creative posts and our chats....he was a very unique man
  4. Stay close to the board Sunny....critical time for you. Something inside you still believes in the cigarette...which is a dangerous mindset. You are not missing ANYTHING by being a non smoker...you have everything to gain. Keep close and keep talking about it...read, educate yourself. Download an app on your phone that does hypnosis for smoking...I did that every night....quitting smoking was all I thought about. I ate, drank, slept, and lived all about quitting smoking in the first few days, weeks, and sometimes...months. We are here for you!
  5. Looking at the clock waiting for 5:00 because I am off for the next 3 days
  6. Jillar....I assure you..the post had nothing to do with animosity. Many, many people have gone off and tried to start their own forum and failed, but The Quit Train succeeded. I was not implying anything else but that. Also...that's a saying in reference to a marriage or relationship..."it will never last"...I was just being silly. Glad you are here. I Changed the title so that there is no misunderstanding.
  7. Started out as hypothetical....a few discussions...and the drive and determination of our Fearless Leader...my friend for life ?...Marylandquitter. March 30, 2014 the Quit Train was born! Since that time....this place has been magical and truly has been running on it's own ever since. Little to no moderation was ever really needed. Run by the dedicated members here...who are just paying it forward for the help they received in the fight for their lives. Great bonds are formed here. Long after they quit they keep coming back here...their "go to" place. Playing games and being silly and having fun. The beauty of that...is that they are here...round the clock...ready, willing, and able to get serious and help when the need arises. It's a beautiful thing! SO I would like to salute you all...and congratulate you on a job VERY well done.. As always....thank you MQ HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY QUIT TRAIN!!? Who wants cake?
  8. I might have overlooked something...but I don't see an introductory thread. I am sure if you posted one...you would have gotten a lot of warm welcomes.
  9. Well Done Pixelsketch!! always knew you would protect that quit Congrats!
  10. Well done Beazel! I remember when you first came to Quit train...you were still fresh in your quit and extremely nervous and although you showed your determination to remain quit...still a little bit shaky. Your confidence and happiness as a non smoker definitely shows! Congratulations on one year of Smobriety
  11. out of the 3...what was your favorite? I always wanted to go to Petrified forest and grand canyon

    Confessions

Confession: For years I thought the line in Steve Miller Bands Jet Airliner was... "Big ole Jet had a light on"
  13. I am so grateful so many of you found your way here....I know in the first year of my quit (even 2) I would have panicked if the place I called home just vanished..along with my family on there. I would have been so lost. With the amount of people here from the qsmb, I can imagine it feels as close to home as can be and that must be such a comfort. Plus....we have so many new people to get to know and join together in the war against nicotine addiction! Love the energy here! I am excited for the quittrain and for all of you! a big HUGE welcome!!
  14. same here! You are all amazing!
  15. Sorry I missed this!! Congratulations!!! I miss a lot of milestones but I hate missing the 1 year...especially for a member as helpful and supportive as you Reciprocity. Keep on rockin' that quit!
  16. printed this out for a friend of mine who is in the early days of quitting and is struggling. Hope it helps her and also anyone else reading this today

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
