Everything you are going through is normal and it sounds like you have a good attitude about your quit. That will help a lot.
Remember, smoking does nothing positive for you. Whatever positive things someone sees in smoking is all an illusion.
Smoking does, however, do a whole hell of a lot of negative things for you. You are not giving anything positive up. You are making a huge and great life change by getting the poison of smoking out of your system and out of your life for good.
I'm glad Sazerac posted that thread about Allen Carr. Carr's book helped me out in a huge way and I gained a lot from it. I would strongly suggest reading or listening to it. It really changed my overall mindset about smoking.
Oh, and anytime you need to vent, feel free. That's part of what a support group is about and venting can really help.
You are doing great, Nikki!

Welcome to QuitTrain, Nikki! Congratulations on deciding to quit smoking.
Quitting smoking can be challenging but education about nicotine addiction and support in quitting can really help you stay quit for good. You can get both here.
There are a lot of great people here that will help you with whatever questions or struggles you may have.
Reach out whenever you need support and read as much as you can about quitting smoking.
You can do this and life as a non-smoker is much greater than being a slave to nicotine addiction.
It is good to have you here.

No rain yet but there is a strong line of storms coming up from the south that should be here (Raleigh, North Carolina) within the next hour.

Cubs have dealt with a couple of tough loses to the Cardinals.
Still, I have been impressed with recently acquired reliever Jesse Chavez. He has pitched well for us so far.
It was announced last night that Tyler Chatwood will be heading to the bullpen to make room for Cole Hamels in the starting rotation. Chatwood is averaging over 8 walks per nine innings this year which is crazy. Hopefully he can figure stuff out now that he isn't in the starting rotation.
I agree with Boo. I think the Hamels trade is low risk, potentially high reward for us, especially since the Cubs didn't give up a ton for him. At the bare minimum, I hope Hamels is an upgrade over Chatwood, which isn't asking for much.

Congratulations Nikki! The first few days are the toughest but it does get better...much better.
Just take it one moment at a time. As you said, there's no turning back now. Keep up the great work!
