  3. When I was a kid I always thought quicksand would be the biggest problem in my life because 'nobody' could escape from quicksand; right? Then years later, well actually decades later, I realize quicksand is no real threat to me because I've never come across it yet in all my years on this earth, and I've been to some pretty weird places in my time, so chances are .... I'm good for the rest of my days! Now I worry about other stuff like, does water really go down the drain counter clockwise in the southern hemisphere? And if it does, what happens to water in a sink right on the equator? Is there no swirling of water on the equator? Or; is it like this? Switching back and forth between clockwise & counter clockwise I clearly have some serious contemplating to do so I'd better get at it!!

  12. That 1st month's a big chunk of quitting but you're not done yet. You've proven you can deal with the worst your junkie brain can throw at you but now the question becomes, can you keep it up? I think you've proven you can so just keep doing it OC!

  17. Here's another one to consider. Not only do you get an old truck to work on but firewood for this coming winter as well

  18. I'm thinking about buying an old beater truck. Something that still runs but is old enough that an old chunk of coal like me can still work on it. I bought a new F250 last year. It's a good truck but like most new vehicles it is overengineered. The fuse box under the hood has 70 fuses in it. Even the fuel gauge is all technological now. If I find just the right spare vehicle at a decent price, the Boo Crew will be easy to spot in town...

  19. Since I work a hybrid schedule - this is my first day back in the office since quitting. Fortunately, I was not a social smoker so that's not an issue. I do enjoy my breaks so I'm going to use our meeting room to have a snack & play some phone games. As an introvert - I really cherish that quiet time (that I used to get by going outside to smoke). Not an issue when I'm working remotely so we'll see how today goes Whatever adjustments I need to make - it is still a NOPE day!

  27. Yay - it's not Monday No matter how many times I read it or heard it from ex-smokers - I am blown away at how hungry I am. If you are reading here and planning or contemplating your quit - the hunger is real. I am not eating much more than before - but I am grazing all day. Have snacks available to graze on. Treat yourself like a toddler on a long car trip

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
