  1. I am still here, for some reason, hanging on, really struggling, really depressed. But as I said many times, not giving up, not going back, no other option. I AM A NON SMOKER, even if I hate it. It is just an addiction that wants me to give in but I will not, I am more than that!

  18. Yay @Kris and @Lindafor saving kris's quit. This made my day already And Kris, maybe part of your depression is thinking you should be past all the struggle but you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. Its going to take as long as it takes. Mine took a full year with bad days sprinkled in after that. Your addiction is thinking oh shit she REALLY was serious about never smoking again. Its doing everything it can to lure you back in so stand your ground because I promise you it WILL get better

  20. don't give in. you quit for a reason. smoking will not make you feel any differently. it may seem better for a bit while you get your fix but after that you'll just feel worse. and it's not stupid. you feel how you feel.

  32. Sorry to worry anyone. My son, girlfriend, daughter, and SIL were in town for over a week. Turned off my quit site so no one could see the site on the computer (remember son and daughter don't know I smoked). Having so many people around all the time definitely helped control the cravings. Just like with having my wife keep my keys hidden, it really helps control the urges knowing if I smoked, I would come home and people would be able to tell I was smoking. I'm 2 days past my longest period of not smoking. Hurray. Still having memories and triggers though.

  33. Hello, I managed to stay smoke-free for almost two days, but unfortunately smoked 3 ciggarettes today, as the brain fog became unbearable at work :(. I threw my pack, lighter and ashtray, and I am ready to jump on the Quit Train! My story: Smoked since I was 14, now I'm 23, and decided I should end this addiction for good. I'm happy to find this community and I am confident that I will manage to stay quit with the help and support provided by this forum, and hope that when the time comes I can help others quit as well. I will no longer smoke and punish myself everyday with this addiction!

  37. Sirius Quit Date: May 27, 2014 Posted May 23, 2017 ...and now you don't get rid of me that easily. :rtfm: When I started my quit I found that time was my enemy. I fought for each moment to stay nicotine free. :hunter: The moments became day-to-day issues. Then just occasional cravings. Eventually time becomes your friend again. More time in the day to do things other then poison yourself. :paint2: More total time in your life to enjoy (bonus to lifespan). More money (lack of smoking expense) to enjoy the more time you have. :beach: Holy Guacamole; more time AND money!?!? You gets your cake and gets to eat it too?? :yahoo: Moreover your time is of better QUALITY. Can taste and smell better. Less coughing and illnesses. Smoke free means you are a better Lover (you don't smell/taste like an ashtray). :girl_in_love: Now we are at: More time. More money. Better time. Better love. if you need more and better reasons you need a serious and comprehensive reality check. The Quit Train is Happy to see you. :welcome: Link to original post: https://www.quittrain.com/topic/8557-one-year-commitment-completed-and-now/

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
