  1. Just popping in to say I still on the quit train. Guess I at about the 9 month mark now. I can see why people encouraged to make a one year commitment to being on the train here. You may think you doing good (and if you on the quit train you ARE) but getting through the holidays is a challenge and though all the moments of life a year can send your way If you lurking and thinking on it....you can do this...absolutely a 100% you can do this. I hope you do and chose something good for yourself. You do deserve it! And all those on the train I hope you have a beautiful peaceful New Year. Thank you for your shared stories that helped/help me and so many others!

  18. Here where it should be snowing, its mid-50's and beautiful. While I appreciate the warmth, it makes me really sad since we need water and I would like to ski. Hope everyone on the QT has a great and smoke-free day!

  24. You guys don't need to worry about adjusting. Sometimes when there are updates we lose our custom forum settings temporarily, thus the grrr from MQ because he and our tech guy rixcz have to put them all back up.

  25. My sister told me the other day that cigarettes are $83 a carton in our area. Don't know why that shocked me.....but, it did. Cost was a big determining factor in my sticky quit, so I felt thankful that I went for it and quit. You find strength from within yourself that you never knew you had, so whatever your reasons are - please believe in yourself. Commit to the quit. This wonderful group of quitters is proof. We have done it. You CAN do it.

  26. I just spent $700.00 on another vintage Seiko wrist watch. It’s 50 years old and my 4th of a particular sought after model by collectors. They are so cool that I decided I want to leave one to each child, which is why I got this 4 th one. After I get them, I send them to Wales, to a guy named Simon, who specializes in servicing vintage Seikos. By the time all is said and done, each will cost over a thousand bucks. This one cost me more, because of its rare silver dial, so will be over a grand. The others are yellow and two dark blue. I have to slow down my spending, but I really love this hobby, and it keeps me sane during all this Covid madness.

  27. Hey everyone! Just wanted to say I'm still going smoke free and all. Have to look for a new apartment today - it's stressful, of course, so I'm making sure I have enough caffeine in my system for the day :)

  30. @AceWhite Sorry I missed this earlier, been under the weather. You not only have my adoration for your quit but also that you celebrate doing things that most of us only dream of. You are running, biking, swimming and ice skating. I always thought you must be in your 20s or 30s. You are at an age when most of us slow down but you are out the tearing it up. I am jealous!!

  31. Oh @Mee, I can only imagine the hurt you are feeling having been excluded from the will. Please be sure to see the will though and don't rely on what your POS brothers are telling you. Greed has no boundaries, and I'm so sorry that even after death your parents are still hurting you. My heart is with you my friend.....

  32. Aww Sweetheart.... I'm so sorry you are having to deal with people's crap behaviour after losing your Mum and Dad.. Some people just don't have a conscience..... You carnt pick your family ....but you sure can pick your friends .... Stick around here a while ...you have all the friends you need to help you through just here ... Sending a Big Hug ...

  33. @Mee, I'm really sorry to read your mom died so soon after you losing your dad And that's horrible what your brothers are doing! Hopefully your parents had a will and they'll have to give you your share. Or you could threaten to take them to court and since it would be where you are they would have to travel to court each time at their own expense lol. Anyway my friend just know I'm thinking positive thoughts that your New Year will be better...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
