Thanks everyone for the great advice. I agree... I figure I'll have to steer clear of some things like long rides and beer & wings with the guys for just a little while. At least until I feel confident and comfortable enough. Small sacrifices for the greater good.7 points

Perhaps you could go riding 'on your terms' and get acclimatized to the trigger. Go for a short quick ride with a trusted friend. Prepare yourself mentally that you're doing this to overcome the pit stop crave. Do a single pit stop and face down the crave. I would repeat the process a few times before going on a longer group ride where the real triggers will hit you.4 points

I to have been have been going at it for a long time just to the wrong place. I love your word crapalooza, would you mind if I make it my motto? K2 points

@JustSomeGuy, I stuck close to home my whole first month or two. We got to do what we got to do and you're smart to get some time under your belt before going riding since that may cause pretty good craves your first time doing it quit. So I think you made a great decision2 points

Hi Justin you are doing great with your quit and your weight but I have to keep things light. I think I did about 200 curls today bending alternate arms to place food in my mouth. I did about 50 up and downs letting the dogs in and out. I did some weight training with the pots and pans as I cooked food I should not be eating. Of course I should always do some stretching and bending. Got that done unloading the dishwasher. Some day I will be sending you a message to help me eat better and control my weight. Trust me it is going to one heck of a workout for you. Keep it going, you are tackling two tasks at one time and that only calls for admiration.! K2 points

Are you freakin nuts? You got more red "didn't smoke" X's than anytime since your 20's and you are thinking of blowing it? Is there a gun to your head, are you being water boarded, being tortured in any way? If not, I suggest you think this though. Think about the $4000 that one cigarette will cost and the 7000 you will be required to smoke cause you know you have never summoned the courage and strength to try again in less than 1 year.2 points

I think fasting is alright for women but not so much as men. Fasting can cause the body to breakdown muscle rather than fat if it thinks it is starving. It can also divert vitamins and minerals from the brain which causes a decrease in higher order thinking. These things are not as important for women since they do not need as much in the way of muscle or higher order thinking. But for men, the negative effects of fasting can outweigh the positives. Oh, and by the way, everything I've written above is bull poo and meant only to get a rise. It's obviously a bunch of malarky. I sometimes enjoy leading people on with a bit of sarcastic humor and hope you take it in the context it was meant. Have a great day.2 points

Oh my, I don't know if anyone watches The Resident but is was a tear jerker tonight!!! As I sit here crying! But it did focus on the importance of being an organ donor. What a good show1 point

I really hope she's able to spend some time with you at home, and maybe the familiar surroundings and some home cooking will help her recover. Most importantly, I'm sure your sweet pup has always known how much she is loved and she will carry that with her wherever she is.1 point

Great job on creating the daily exercise habit. I know what you mean about how you feel once daily exercise is embedded as part of your daily routine. When something outside of your normal routine is going to happen, like a visit, appt, etc, I'll bet your mind automatically jumps to "I'm going to need to move the workout later/earlier, etc" just like mine. If I'm going to visit my daughter for 3 days, my mind will automatically remember to take outdoor w/o clothes appropriate for early morning workouts cause it knows I will need to get the w/o in before everyone else is up so I have the day for visiting. If my wife mentions going out w/ friends suddenly, my mind is thinking "we can do a quick stretching routine". Thats whats great about turning exercise into a habit. It's also why when someone ask me how often they should exercise, I tell them every day. Much easier to create an everyday habit, than a 3 day a week habit. That doesn't mean you have to do the same type/intensity/duration everyday. But if you want exercise to be as automated as brushing your teeth, everyday is the way to go.1 point

Those are all great advice. I'll grab the gum from my car to chew on when I need something. Yesterday I drank a lot of water just to get past the cravings. And I'll definitely check out the games...I remember those helping a lot last time.1 point
