  7. @Kris, I think that’s a common response. I know, I have had the same feeling. I even think some of us believe we don’t deserve to succeed at quitting, as sad as that sounds. But we do deserve to quit and live a healthier lifestyle. I do, you do, and everyone here does. Keep up the good work. You’ve got this!

  11. Thank you @Kris! The job is good! I’m not going to lie though. Some days when I walk out there a cigarette the size of my arm would be just the thing! LOL But I know that to be the lie that it is! That’s how the old me would have wanted to relax after a long stressful day at work. I am able to check up you all briefly a couple of times during the day and then in the evening when I get home. I’m never far away. I see that you are still keeping your quit and getting more familiar with how the site works. Just stay with us. We need each other. I’m not ashamed to say it. There was a time in the early stages of my quit when I didn’t need or want anything to do with anyone except for my QuitTrain friends and I thank God that they were all here!!!! Keep up the good fight and I’ll be thinking of you!

  13. I'm not typically the sensitive type. However, I was a bit offended when a friend of mine said: "Boo's the kind of guy that buys his clothes at the hardware store." That hit a little close to home. I did buy my favorite jacket at Ace Hardware. It keeps me warm on cold days. It keeps me dry on rainy days. It fits like a glove...What more could you want from a jacket? The catwalks of Milan and Paris will just have to wait.

  19. G’day John I went the Champix way. Couple of days the cigs tasted like Shite. Stopped cause that’s what I was about and continued to take the tabs. Mate I keep taking those things don’t know what they did but didn’t care. I was stopped. Laughed when I heard your comment about the smoking bone being connecting to the drinking bone. Mate your going to be amazed. You get to face those really bad triggers and find out there not as bad as you think. First one to weaken and die for me was that first smoke of the day. Gone withered and proved to be weak and pathetic pretty fast. Any strong urge will be the first you’ll face and they find you will not respond they will lose strength and slither away, powerless. Im 63 gave walked away at 57.....don’t look back trust me chris

  25. No throwing on fires right now, we have enough fires out here in the west. But I will use the number of not smoking 29,720 as inspiration to continue.

  26. I'll toss on a cool 32,760. It's so rare that I think about smoking anymore that that number completely blows my mind.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
