  4. @Abby, you are always so supportive of others, but this post shows you are in need of some help. First, let me say, you should try not to fret over situations you cannot control. Of course, it is stressful, but you cannot change the fact that COVID is here, and probably for the foreseeable future. It is not going away. As long as there are a significant number of folks, who refuse to get vaccinated, the world will remain in danger, and life will remain different from how it was, before March, 2020, or before COVID! You have to wrap your head around that. Here, in the U.S., a variant is running rampant throughout, causing new restrictions. I suspect that will be the case, worldwide. We have to accept that. So far, the virus hasn’t really affected my finances, but if it has affected yours, that must be scary. The thought of moving is daunting, for most people. I sincerely hope you won’t have to do that. But, if you do, I’m sure you can handle it, based on the strength you exhibit, when you preach positivity to others in need. Hang in there. We are all helpless, when it comes to changing what’s going on, during a global pandemic. We are not hopeless, however. Stick around here, reach out to your friends and family, for support, as you always reach out to others, who are in need. Keep the faith!

  7. Feeling more trendy and hip than usual. I've reached that point in life where by the time I hear about a trend, it's already falling out of fashion. However, with lumber supplies low and prices rising folks on the interwebs are looking into "recycled wood." Hip urbanites are figuring out how to build furniture using old pallets. I've been using old pallets to build things for a couple of years now. And I have access to a bunch of pallets. While I recognize it is a fleeting thing, I'm enjoying temporarily feeling like a cool guy.

  11. Yo- the drinking bone is only connected to the smoking bone by the nicotine addict tumor. Treat the tumor, you can drink without smoking. All things negative always lead back to smoking. Welcome aboard the train-

  12. No idea how I found this site but sure glad I did . ( DRS ) . Don't remember stuff like I used to . It's really quite fun here . The people are really fun and supportive and like I said , lots and lots to do and lots of incentives and encouragements to help . Can't ask for anything more except would be fun to meet one day . Like you katgirl I had an eight year quit with no support and now I have ten with support . I could leave , but why ? I am retired , I love giving back , helping and encouraging others and I don't want to forget where I came from ...that day one , you know . I also have waaay too much time on my hands lol especially in winter so hey why not . Besides I'm shooting for fifteen years smoke free . They say that's when you are truly a non smoker not just an Ex smoker anymore , so sorry people , you are stuck with me five more years . I'm not done living for a long time or if it's only a year I'm darn well going to have fun . Don't need smoking for that , just family , friends and quit train friends.

  17. And since Jo already suggested that liking this song meant I needed to turn in my "man card", might as well post it again.

  18. I don't think I'm alone here...some of us have those songs that we like in spite of not wanting to admit that we like them. For me personally, many of these songs are tunes that were popular in the eighties. They were songs that my sister liked, so me being the pesky little brother that I was spoke often of how terrible those songs were. It was a pointless debate, but I would say things like: "Duran Duran sucks! Van Halen rules!" Heard one of those songs while I was eating lunch this afternoon. Now, I can confess that I looked this song up and listened to it again.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
