  2. Gosh I’m home, I joined this merry band of quitters way back when we jumped ship after a mutiny in the bounty. I had countless quits and falling off the train over the years BUT I’ve got my sticky quit now. To all of you who shared my journey in the beginning I’m blessed to have met you. You are family, encouragement , belief, hand holders and so much more. To all of you at the beginning of your journey push through the hard days, focus on the outcome because it is so bloody worth it. You can do this you are worth it, no not L’Oreal but worth fighting to stop. Stinky smelly cigs if you are tempted stop, throw that cig on the ground and stamp on it. Toot toot all aboard the quit train

  6. Never quit the quit and keep coming back!! Educate yourself! Once you fully understand the addiction, you will have absolutely NO PROBLEM committing to your quit because you will KNOW beyond doubt that smoking does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for you. NOTHING! Smother yourself in videos and reading material!! CONSTANTLY! It's what helped me! I even got an app to go to sleep to for quitting smoking. I Saturated myself in it KNOWING that one day it will "sink in" as long as kept doing it. Daily actions! that is what counts! Hope you get back on the quit train and NOPE!

  16. Great job keeping that quit, Linda! It's hard now, and its going to stay hard until it eases up. It will ease up eventually. For me, 4 months was a lot better. Then 6. Then 9. Please try to occupy your mind with something that wipes it free of all thoughts including smoking. Puzzles, crochet, exercise, a movie...cooking...anything that consumes you except smoking. It will get better. It takes time...only God knows how much. You have to have the longer breath, so to speak. Be more tenacious and more determined than your addiction, and you will prevail. Hope your days get better soon.

  18. Nope! We had better protocols in place than you guys did initially but on the vaccine front, we're batting zero pretty much. They've done the old folks homes and front line workers and that's about it ICU's are overwhelmed so they may start turning some away plus - the bodies, where to put them? The variant strains are more easily passed on and they are a lot more infectious. Lots of younger people now going to ICU and on ventilators. It's not good, that's for sure. I wonder how long I can hold my breath???

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
