  8. If quitting smoking is what you want to do Matthew then you need to be all in. 100% committed to being cigarette and nicotine free. Otherwise it will not be successful. I would also advise staying away from alcohol for awhile. On account that it will alter your ability to make sound choices regarding your quit. Once you've established a good quit then I would say slowly work back into having a few drinks.

  18. Oh oona, I totally know the feeling and I promise you it won't always be like this. Plus each crave you get through makes you stronger and them weaker! You are doing great so just keep doing what you're doing and you'll be out the other side before you know it

  25. Yes of course you should! Give yourself the power back from nicotine! If there's no nicotine at home then you won't be able to fail.

  26. It is nice. Big difference between that and the tourist trap of Niagara Falls, just down the road. NOTL is classy & elegant with lots of shops and charm. and always beautifully landscaped! The Niagara Parkway, linking Niagara Falls and Niagara On The Lake is also a beautiful drive. Plus, NOTL is right there in wine country. How convenient

  27. Yup...lots of excuses out there. I used this one a lot.... Excuse: There are too many bad things going on in my life right now to even think about quitting. Fake examples - My kid is having problems at school; my aunt is terminally ill; my house has termites; my car needs a new transmission; my back is sore; my dog won't eat; my parents can't keep up their house; my neighbors put a garden gnome village in their front yard......blah, blah, blah. Truth: There is never a time when everything is perfect and serene in life. There will always be some challenge or difficulty you'll need to deal with. They are not valid reasons to avoid the single best thing to improve your life...quitting smoking. Bad things may occasionally pop up after you quit, but at least you'll be healthier and free from a crappy addiction.

  28. I actually joined this board a couple years ago when I tried to quit and it didn't last a minute. Hah. But I remembered the board when I had this problem.

  30. I don't think it's the s pulling the s as it that's the problem, it's not then he o wing some over your shoulder. But do you the o w it o her your left shoulder our your right shoulder? (Translation: I don't think it's the spilling the salt that's the problem, it's not then throwing some over your shoulder. But do you throw it over your left shoulder or your right shoulder? .......cos you know when you spill salt you have to throw some over your shoulder so you don't get bad luck)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
