I used to think I enjoyed smoking too, until I learned the truth about this nasty addiction. Reci really hit the nail on the head here with "Knowledge is power", once I realized that I was feeding the "addiction" and not really enjoyed smoking, I was able to kick it in the butt! Welcome @Oona , please educate yourself about the addiction and you will enjoy the ride to freedom!3 points

How ironic it is that the very thing that smokers fear most when they contemplate quitting, that raw craving for nicotine, is the very thing you transcend when you do successfully quit. Nice to be free of all that.3 points

Welcome, Oona! Congratulations on quitting smoking! I too loved to smoke on most days until I had smoked long enough to start hating it. I tried quitting several times but never made it very long. Then I watched my mom die of smoking. COPD. I don't want that in my future and am now 8 months quit. This forum provides lots of support and information. I highly recommend Joel Spitzer's videos as mini counseling sessions. Also, playing the games can keep your mind busy if you just want a distraction. Hooray for Oona! Life is beautiful without nicotine. You'll remember. You'll see!3 points

Welcome to the train oona. You will come to love being a non smoker. Back in the day I thought I enjoyed smoking too, never went anywhere without my pack!! Truth was I didn’t really like smoking, and many times I would light up and think. I don’t really want this, or force myself to smoke with a sore throat, and curse because it hurt my throat even more!!! Did I really love it? Now I have learnt that I smoked because I needed to get my nicotine levels up because I was addicted. Take it one day at a time, and you will soon love your new smokefree life. All the best to you.3 points

MYTH...koalas are cute and cuddle. FACT...they are vicious little buggers, with foul tempers, prone to violence and all have stds. Evidence: Fast forward to 2.50 if you want....the little fella is a quokka, which technically is in the wallaby family.1 point

No one ever told me either. People seemed surprised when they found out I smoked. I think they are just being nice as I could smell it on others (even as a smoker). And even through the perfume/cologne they tried to cover it up with. But then when you think more about it... what friend, loved one, or total stranger is honestly going to just rudely blurt out that you, your house, or you vehicle reeks? I never did.1 point
