  2. I now love the thing I secretly used to dread when I was a smoker. Going on date night with my wife. More often than not we’d do dinner and a movie. I would always flag down the waiter to bring our check the moment I took my last bite so I could dash out and smoke a cigarette. And the movie would be even more torturous. I could never focus on the last hour because the cravings were so strong. Now I love our night out. I’m totally present in the moment. And I see more than ever how fortunate I am to have such a wonderful and loving person in my life.

  4. Hello, I am new here. This is my third time of quiting smoke, and I hope the last. I read book Allen Carr and visits to this type of sites help me to fight. I have been smoking for 30 years, with a few breaks. But now I really want to break forever. Today is my 14th day. Regards to all

  6. I haven't been smoke free all that long but I am slowly seeing some of the benefits. For example, I've started to breathe better and I believe my blood pressure is at a much better level. I still get cravings but they at a totally manageable. I don't miss worrying about wether I have enough smokes to last the day. I think I smoked the most when I was bored but I realize that I got better things to do in my down time. It's quite a revelation to know that life's tough moments don't involve smoking to get through them.

  11. Seeing as a pack of smokes costs more than a lamb roast down here defo loving the money I now seem to have so much more of. I love the freedom. But most of all I love that my kid wants to hug me and spend time with me because it doesn't hurt her breathing anymore....and I never even knew it did until she says something after I quit.

  24. Dunno about you mob but with the lockdown I've been doing a bit more cooking than normal....well not more, just less quick n easy.... Everyone is loving home made rolls in our house and bickie's every couple of days. Forgot home much I loved baking. Landed on a knead free bread roll recipe which is awesome. But they don't last that long so sort of need a few people to eat them.

  27. I am going through my emergency supplies and seeing how long I can do this. Tweaking the list for the next catastrophe, sigh. So, being very parsimonious about portions which is GREAT, I am shedding lots of weight. Being serious about nutrition. I have a big spinach stash in freezer. Also maybe 5 gallons of my Legendary Gumbo which I am saving in case I contract The Virus. I have some herbs in the garden (didn't get my summer crop in, sigh) many onion greens. I am eating TONS of beans and they are super creamy cooked in my instant cooker thing. Red, White, Black, Black-eyed, Lentils, Chickpeas. Making them with lots of bean juice which I drink as a snack. Frozen salmon steaks, these are awesome. now, only a few red potatoes and sweet potatoes left. Black rice, white rice, red rice. Masa Harina to make tortillas. A grated brick of cheddar in the freezer. Muscle Milk !!!!! down to last 6 eggs, a dozen beaten and froze in ice cube trays. Haven't had a delivery in 30 days except for gifts from the farm which I inhaled, ha ha ha. Had this been hurricane, freezer wouldn't be on so, I am lucky to have power and haven't started on my 'real' hurricane supplies. Foodstuffs requiring no cooking. Don't know whether I will continue my experiment. I am dreaming of FOOD.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
