  3. Linda 537 days quit I have entered the next phase of my life. I turned 65 yrs old yesterday.. My husband retired on December 31st. I do find he is a little hooked to my hip but it is wonderful to pick up and do what we want. I hope we can navigate this new period of our lives with little bumps. Hopefully quitting smoking gives us more time together and we stay healthy. I did gain quite a few quit smoking pounds but started the new year dieting. My husband and I have both lost 8 pounds each.

  11. Wasn't mentioning the hail in Canberra incase Nicky hadn't told @Doreensfree...but she has. Vic fires got a decent soak. Think this thread should be renamed Aussie natural disaster of the day.

  18. Thanks everyone for the replies! Day 6 was a little tough as went out with friends and had some drinks but I hung in there. Day 7 I didn't have any cravings all day until around 10 at night before bed. Today is day 8 and it's not too bad. A few days after I quit, walking into my place I could smell cigarette smell ( I never could notice before); as a weekend project I painted all my walls. Much better now! Also volleyball season starts up next week so will be doing that 4 nights a week so that will be great to have something to keep me busy (the past week has just been time bored at home).

  24. Unbelievable weather, we haven't had hail stones in NSW, but we have had a total of one day drizzle rain, and after the drought it apparently is still not enough to put out some fires in NSW Extreme weather for a very long time or never in some cases. In the meantime I am creating new plants while the clouds pour rain (regeneration on the move) My cacti - I dont have the names I was given these cuttings by others but so far they have had a good soaking. I have never seen the Gray one before, someone might have a name? Taken with my Iphone

  25. - abbynormal - 384 days quit - We got a new truck, so like, that's pretty cool. It'll be the first vehicle we own that I won't smoke in ever! - I don't do selfies, but this pretty much sums it up:

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
