  6. Went to docs yesterday told her about symptoms and that i wanted a blood test to check for lyme. She sent me for the test but does not think its lyme . Told her about the 25 days not smoking and cutting my xanax from 2 a day to a quarter of that a day and said that seems to be the main problem. She said everything sounded and looked good. Even my oxygen level that was usually at 95 most of the time was up to 98. So with that in hand on day 26 i say no again to those damn coffin nails lol

  13. Good morning fellow NOPErs and Happy Father's Day to all our dad's living in the UK, Canada, India, the Americas and the USA.....so basically all our dad's except Chris, Fab and any Kiwis, they have to wait for September. So any dad's out there lurking, in that limbo between wanting to quit and actually quitting why not celebrate Father's Day 2019 by giving yourself, your kids and your grandkids the greatest gift you can and say NOPE...not one puff every again. NOPE....cos my Dad loves that I now don't.

  14. This is natural, funkyfunjo, but lighting up will not make anything better. Stick with it - the longer you stay smoke free, the better things will get. As Linda and Jill said, there are a lot of distractions here in the socializing and games sections that can help keep your mind occupied and off smoking. Do what you have to do to keep from smoking. Things do get better.

  15. What you're going through is completely normal Funkyfunjo and part of the process but I promise you it will get better. I like Linda's idea about checking out our social forums. There are so many good, funny threads there. If you're not a 'stick of the day' type of person we also have jokes threads and confessions, which is hysterical if I do say so myself

  16. Hang in there funkyfunjo. I promise life will get better. Don't let those thoughts make you think smoking will make life better. Try to stay busy. If you need a good laugh, visit "The stick of the day" on the forum. It was my laugh of the day when I was in my early quit. \ Keep posting if you want to talk. We are here!!!!

  17. I hope you are doing better now, @Kdad 9 months smoke free is great but you have to keep up that great work. There is nothing to be nostalgic about with smoking. It does nothing positive for you at all. Keep the quit.

  18. Hey kdad, sorry you're having a tough time. Even though nine months seems like forever when we quit it's really just a drop in the bucket compared to all the years we smoked so these bad days here and there are to be expected. That's one of the reasons we say stick close your first year. Now, even once past your first year you should expect a few wtf days too. So that's why we also say never let your guard down. I had days like you're having too when I was that far along. I even thought about smoking a congratulatory cigarette when I made a year Good on you for posting, I hope you're feeling a little better by now and I promise you that this too shall pass so stay strong. You got this

  19. Well, nihilism sure isn't a help in keeping your quit. Thoughts of joining other smokers are the same as other thoughts that enter our minds that we must push right back out. We can't control which thoughts pop into our heads but we do have a choice on acting upon them.

  22. I hear where you are coming from Kdad, I was there a couple of times myself. I just looked really hard into myself and saw (and still do) all the good that had come from quitting and that would get me thru. Also that one year mark had a big draw on me -- I really wanted to see the Lido deck and it was worth every day. Keep strong and keep close !!!!

  25. Yea they do that at the bowling alley here. I found out the hard way when I still bowled and smoked. I never had time to smoke a whole one so I would run out, smoke about half and save it until I had another chance to sneak out. But every time I came out the other half was gone... Fun fact: the name of our bowling team was The Smoking Bowlers lol. And we won the league that year

  26. Waiting for the kid to wake up and go grocery shopping...and join me at Bunnings for lunch, yep Gun killed the garden snake...again....not sure if the kid trained him to do it to guarantee regular Bunnings Sausages or if he really thinks he is protecting us from its evilness.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
