  12. Lol... I live right around the corner from you, but my girls live in the Columbus area (Delaware, Hilliard, and Pickerington) here is another pic, that has all 4 of Kelli’s children in it. (it’s hard to get the 3 little ones to set still for very long )

  15. Congratulations @desperate1 for being 1 month smoke free. Well done on getting through the hardest month of your quit. Its great to see you in NOPEing. So rewards are a very important part of re-wiring our nicotine receptors, so make sure you do something special to treat yourself today. Its important to your quit, and you deserve it.

  21. Thanks everyone... I’m gonna try and do a better job of hanging around here. When we got back from Florida , Me and Sherrie both got the flu, then pneumonia... it’s been 5 weeks and we are just now getting back to normal... ( as normal as I get...lol) I couldn’t imagine going through that as a smoker... I have never felt so bad in my life.. I can’t imagine forcing smoke into my lungs that were already killing me. In 3 weeks we are headed to the OBX for our annual beach fix, and when I get back, I hope to stick around here and contribute to the babe if the day thread

  22. I was one of the lucky ones....went thru menopause at 51...had 6-8 months of the hot flashes (which were intense....esp when they would happen during meetings at work!! I always carried one of those collapsible folding fans with me...if I didn't, then the sweat would just drip down my face!!!) I have 2 sisters...both younger than me who went thru it a younger age than me....and they both still have the hot flashes and one still gets the night sweats! Going on 10-15 years now for them with the hot flashes/night sweats...one is now vaping the last 4 years and the other still smoking. I have been quit for over 2 years and haven't had any issues with flashes/night sweats.....

  23. I'm glad to see you all doing great in your quits. Thanks for the updates. Stay strong Abby. That is really rough what you are going through but you know a cigarette will not make anything better.

  25. I'm still here! I'm still quit! Life is currently rough, but the quit is solid. I just passed 100 days and feel stronger every day. I'm dealing with the sudden, unexpected passing of a loved one and the diagnosis of a very serious autoimmune disease--all without lighting up. I am proof that you can weather any storm WITHOUT smoking. There is absolutely NO good reason to light up.

  28. Good to hear from you dizzyd and ankush, you've got some great quits going and should be super proud of yourself. Sorry you have been having a hard time posting @DizzyD. A couple others were too after the last site update. I deleted my cookies and bookmark and was able to post again after that. Then you can make a new bookmark, maybe try that? Linda, you technically are still a newbie but with all the great advice you offer one would think you've been quit for years It's no joke, we are nosy lol, at least I am

  29. Ankush, you are doing great. I think the pledge is a great tool to solidify your quit. You will eventually be able to redirect those thoughts. KTQ!

  30. Lol...I have been known to joke about a little ...... Well done you two.....you both should feel very proud ..you are achieving what millions of smokers would love to be doing .... Just Remember all the things you are feeling is Temporary.... It gets so much easier as time passes ... I thought I would die a smoker ...now I couldn't imagine lighting up .... The magic will happen ...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
