Guys, guys!! I said, 'putting the board somewhat in the background. Not, 'goodbye and talk to you never again!' I cant seem to find my way here in the socialization section, maybe its language barrier... dunno. Often afraid I misunderstand jokes and give wrong answers to them... that doesnt make the social section/whatever section very relaxed for me to be... so then all i talk about here is quitting and growing and proces... really, cant hear myself going on about that anymore.. but, i assume it just takes time for me to adjust and to get back some old aspects of myself.. I am not even sure this makes sense. Why am I explaining anyway... All is allright. Anyway, ill be around. And... thanks.4 points

They called Britain's Prime Minister Margret Thatcher "The Iron Lady". I think you've inherited that title Doreen. Admire your strength4 points

Welcome Solo. Joining this forum may just save your life. I hopped on the train 3 years ago and was welcomed with open arms. Best advice? Read, read, read. There are SO many amazing stories, information, heartwarming and heartbreaking tales and hints to help you. You will find your own gems, things that help it ‘click’ for you and one day you will realise you took back control. The misery? That isn’t you, it’s your addiction. Embrace that misery because it means you’re winning. You are crushing that addiction and taking back your life. There are some fascinating articles here about the physical effects nicotine has on your dopamine receptors that explains more about your feelings. It is physically changing your brain and you are emotionally grieving for your main coping mechanism for your entire adult life. I promise you though that one day you will see how insignificant nicotine is. You don’t need it and soon you won’t ‘want’ it. For now, small steps, one at a time. You’ve got this.4 points

Congratulations D1. This is the first of many milestones ahead for you. Celebrate, you've earned it.4 points

Welcome aboard Solo and congratulations on two-months smokefree. You smoked for 44 years. That's 44 years of addiction and conditioning. If it takes more than a couple of months to unpack some things and acclimate yourself to living without cigarettes, that's to be expected. Don't put added pressure on yourself by subscribing to any unrealistic and arbitrary timelines. The process takes time. Celebrate the fact that you have freed yourself from cigarettes and take comfort in the fact that better days lie ahead.4 points

Today is day seven. What an accomplishment. Thought this day would never get here. Many ups and downs but so worth the fight. Ventured out today for the first time since my quit. Bought me some lunch to celebrate. Felt good to get out and breath fresh clean air. Wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Thanks everyone here for all the support.3 points

It blows my mind how much pain and suffering is caused by nicotine. Thank you for everything you do and everything you are, my friend.3 points

Woo Hoo D1, this is massive. 168 hours of incessant Nopes...that's phenomenal. When you look at 168 hours, it seems like such a huge number, but remember how you got past them, one crave, one hour at a time. This was my mantra for my quit. One crave, one hour and one day at a time. Congratulations on starting right and KTQ.3 points

Oh Doreen, this is a topic I could go on about. I love perfumes, smelling good is an essential part of grooming I believe. My favourite perfumes in no particular order: 1. Alien (Thierry Mugler) 2. Nautica Classic 3. Bvlgari Aqva 4. Halloween - J Del Pozo 5. CK - One Summer 6. Nautica Blue 7. Issey Miyake - L'eau De Issey Quite a few more I can't remember now. Basically I absolutely love fresh, oceanic, citrusy fragrances. Not too heavy on floral ones. What about you?3 points

Thanks @notsmokinjo for ensuring these crucial days are celebrated, not just for me but so many others. Thank you all for the wishes, however honestly, didn't even strike me the date has gone by. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad one. I just logged into the forum to wish members on their anniversaries, and there was my thread. Great surprise. I did inadvertently celebrate by watching "how to train your dragon 3" Thank you for the incessant support and wishes.3 points
