  3. Gday Not long till I’m on the road again. Driving back from a friends in Sydney. A bit of a reminder, cause it was there 3 years ago my quit became a “sticky” quit. I can say that now cause I’m looking back. I was realising that my quit was pretty precious and I was unwilling to loss it to a whim. That’s when I started to NOPE and it all sorta fell into place for me. I realized properly it was an addiction and I was an addict! After that life became... not easier... but more of a pleasure. The weight was off those shoulders so there was time for better things than thinking about smoking. Back to work Saturday but Life’s Good!... Ha Ha C

(AP Photo/Steven Senne) A new study has found an association between vaping, or the increasingly popular use of e-cigarettes, and negative cardiovascular health outcomes, including increased odds of having a heart attack, developing coronary artery disease or experiencing depression. The study, which will be presented later this month, is among the first to report such an understudied association and adds to the ongoing debate about whether e-cigarettes are a safer alternative to smoking tobacco. “These data are a real wake-up call and should prompt more action and awareness about the dangers of e-cigarettes,” Dr. Mohinder Vindhyal, an assistant professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine Wichita and lead author of the study, said in a news release. The study looked at data submitted by nearly 96,500 respondents in 2014, 2016 and 2017 for the National Health Interview Survey issued by the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. Those who reported using e-cigarettes were on average roughly seven years younger than non-users, the study found. “When we dug deeper, we found that regardless of how frequently someone uses e-cigarettes, daily or just on some days, they are still more likely to have a heart attack or coronary artery disease,” Vindhyal said. Researchers said that their study has a number of limitations. For one, it doesn’t prove causation, only an association between any kind of smoking and poor health outcomes.   10. I have a hard time communicating in cyberspace; when I read my posts they sound harsh, but that's not my intention. So I hope I don't sound that way to any of you. I wouldn't be critical of anybody who uses vaping to get off cigarettes. I don't feel certain, for myself, that vaping is safe, and I've already done a lot of damage to my body, so vaping wasn't for me. But that's a personal thing, and I support everybody in their battle against smoking, however they go about it.

  12. No matter how it's delivered, nicotine is harmful. Users risk exposing their respiratory systems to potentially harmful chemicals. We all quit smoking but we also quit nicotine. Even the gum and patches are used as a step down. Time will tell lilly but if anything has nicotine and it becomes a life long addiction that comes with fatal consequences

  13. Education is essential. When you scour the research to make sure it isn't funded by Big Tobacco you will learn of the toxicity of ecigs for the user and for the second hand poison. Saying that vaping is 'safer' than cigarettes is not saying much. Not much at all. Is death by knife better than death by scissors ? They may not be equally as damaging or damaging by the same poisons to the same organs but, this doesn't preclude serious damage. @Whispers has been providing us with stellar information here and we have a read only forum that @MarylandQuitter set up, Vaping & Juling: Unquestionalble Addiction, Reckless Aftermath.

  15. I started on/off smoking at 18 (post high school) and daily at 22 in college. So, like JB, my child years were pretty much behind me I was an avid cyclist. Still am but I use my exercise bike more than my real one. Waiting for warm weather to return. I also remember having more hair back then. Can I blame that on smoking too?

  17. Hey guys maybe Lily is taking her first steps to being quit, Maybe she wants to but is scared, Maybe she's peeking into the windows just to see, evaluate "can I do this". Lily most the above is correct, you must want to quit, be deteremined to quit. I no how scary it can be, all the question one has, all the insecurities. it is alot to overcome, you just keep hanging out, reading and listening, check out the video's and writing ! one day sooner than later you are going to shove your quit into Overdrive and leave your addiction far behind you.

Lily: Yesterday was a realy hard day for me, I am like two months NOPE, Before this I was 11 months Nope. and in between when I was smoking it got nasty, I was coughing, I had a hard time breathing, my breath and clothes stunk and this was what I noticed not my family. I surrendered to some sad hardships back then and I look at what a waste of my time and health those months smoking, we can do this and we can kepp this, we just need to want it more than the addiction wants us to smoke. For me I refuse to have my live controled by a chemical.

  19. @Lilly, it wasn't always positivity for me. My first year was horrible but so was my health. I had to choose between smoking and breathing and like whispers said, I missed it. I'm sure if my health wasn't suffering because of it I wouldn't have quit. DON'T wait until your health suffers. Stay on your awesome quit, I promise it will get better and easier with time...……...

  23. You guys inspire me on a daily basis, I realy am a Blessed man. How antone could quit without a premire support group on their side is beyound me. I hope there is someone out there peeking in on us, wondering if they could quit and see what a beautiful avenue this is to take. in fact, I know i play this quit often but it really cheers me up and reminds me of us.

The fact is, inhaling anything into our lungs except clean air is dangerous. The major companies are hiding behind new shills to keep their captive audience, addicts.
