  8. I'm happy to see Die Hard mentioned earlier in this thread. I always try to watch that one during the Christmas season too. Three others I watch include A Christmas Story (one of my all time favs), A Charlie Brown Christmas, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I almost posted this video in the post a song you like thread a few days ago...

  9. Hey lady. From the beginning of my quit, you were there to lift me up. You were so much a part of making me realize I was strong enough to fight this demon. You are an integral part of helping people on this journey. I so want you to follow me to the lido deck. My party would be so boring without you. I am concerned you have been absent. Please let us know you are okay.

  11. WOW !! Thank you everyone! I have to say it feels like a huge deal. I don't remember the last time I looked forward to something like this...that had such a mental meaning so powerful. I have enjoyed all the banter , and the comments along with the encouragement each one of you have made or been a part of , it has certainly made these last 4 weeks a lot easier than I was expecting. I still struggle at times but lately it seems to be a fleeting moment compared to what it used to be and I believe this site has been a huge part of my success to this point. I know it's not over...just a first step. But once again ,THANK YOU!! for all your help and insight with this journey.

  16. Congratulations @Wantsit for being 1 month smoke free. Well done! That is the hardest month of the quit, and you have done it, never to do it again. It is great to see you NOPEing every day and you are joining in on the other threads too, that is a big key... get involved and invested. So rewards are really important, its all part of re-wiring your brain... giving yourself rewards for not smoking re-wires he receptors in your brain that think a nicotine hit is a reward so make sure you do something special to celebrate your first month of freedom.

  21. I'm okay! Thank you for thinking of me, so kind of you! Yes, I'm in Anchorage, I've been here 28 years and that was right up there in the top 3 of NOT fun quakes. Fortunately, there has been no loss of life. The main damage found so far is to our roads and bridges. Kudos to strict building codes and compliant engineers and building contractors. Here's the crazy thing... I just sold my house, signed the final paperwork on Tuesday, the money hit the bank on Wednesday and the new owner moved in yesterday. Poor lady, I hope it didn't sustain any damage. I fly out of here next week. What a stellar send off! I'm good. A little rattled, ha, but ok. I can live without these aftershocks, geez!!!! ??

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
