  3. Gday Someone I’ve known for years actually asked how long since I’ve smoked. No one has actually said that. Usually not smoking is something that you keep to yourself. Or rather something that you tend to forget about over time. I tend to think of myself as a non smoker these days rather than exsmoker. There is always that one time each day that I pledge my NOPE. Just to remind myself …. And to give something back. Just for the record I walked away from the smokes October 10th 2015 was 8 years, 5 months and 11 days ago, which is 3,085 days. It was on a Saturday. A milestone in my life

  4. Thank you all for your comments. Thank you also for your good company and support to me and the other non smokers on the train. Its been an interesting journey on this ride but it's not over yet. There are bound to be more thrills and spills on the track ahead of us. Its been an honour to be in your company.

  10. Thank you all, wouldn't have gotten here without you. My kids and friends showed up at the cabin last night to also celebrate this morning with my favorite breakfast. Bisquit's and sausage gravy along with Bloody Mary's. Of course, the Bloody Mary's helped all with the after-party blues. Of course my Cardiologist will not be happy, but once in a while,,,, screw that! 8 months now surpasses my last failed quit !!!! Onward and upward. KTQ. Cheer's, Stew

  13. Love your username, @Icandoit… so true! Welcome to the forum. Learn all you can about addiction, stay busy/distracted, and hang tough. The pain of withdrawal sucks, but it’s temporary. We’re here to cheer you on, so keep us posted on your progress and don’t hesitate to reach out for help.

  14. Best thing you could possibly do for your future @Icandoit! As Jillar mentioned, have a look around the site and read as much as you can. Knowledge is power when it comes to quitting. Small steps for now, one day at a time. Come here and ask questions you might have or just rant about the challenges you might experience. We've all been where you are and we've all had to do the same thing .... find our way through the quit process. It's possible for everyone including YOU!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
