before today ends.

I hate these things.  I mean really hate them.  I hate the way they make me feel.  I hate the way my lungs feel full all the freaking time.  I hate the taste of them.  I hate everything about them.

So why can't I just put them down ?

I feel like I don't have time to go through the damn withdrawals.  I don't have the time or the energy to battle this.

But I'm sick of them.  So stinking sick of them.

I have to make the time.

and please keep the board up.... some of us really need y'all here when we need you.

Great news about coming back, about quitting smoking,  Tiff.

"I don't have the time"

"I don't have the energy"

These are convenient excuses from the voice of an addict and they are Lies.

Get right with yourself, get real about your addiction.

Start replacing lies and denial with truth and encouragement, be kind to yourself.

p.s. twitter and fbook are available if QTrain central is down.

Welcome back TIFF...

You can put them down..you just have to believe you can..

Over thinking..our minds are our worst enemies..

Take it minute by minute..commit to nope...

My junkie brain took on board ...smoking is not on the table ever..no matter what...

I lived by this..saying it over and over..

Jump in TIFF with two feet..not one in and kind out..

Post post post..

Weekends here are a bit quieter.. But there is always someone here..

I don't have the time or the energy to battle this.

Quitting smoking takes ZERO time and precious little energy. You are, literally, doing nothing where you used to do something.

You spend more time and more energy procuring and consuming cigarettes.

Be honest: It's uncomfortable to quit and you don't want to be uncomfortable.

Time and energy are lies you tell yourself to avoid the truth.

We've told you for years now: you can't have a successful quit without brutal honesty and truth.

Easy Peasy

TIFF...battling c.o.p.d every day..takes time..you will have no energy...

Sitting hooked up to a oxygen machine for 16 hrs every day...takes time...no energy...

Waiting for carers to tend your bathroom tasks..takes time...no energy...

Quitting the killer cigarettes... Takes no time..and give you tons of energy...

Ok, the journey has started.

Just put out my last cigarette.

I know it's stupid.... but had to finish that pack.  Didn't want to waste....... and so I chose to poison myself instead of just chunking them.

Sounds silly doesn't it ?

Addicts hate to trash their stash.

Now you can face up to your addiction and say NO More.  NOPE. NOPE NOPE.

Congratulations !  You are starting a beautiful new adventure.

The benefits are astounding, ask anyone here.

Hold on to your resolve.  Stay focused and remember to Breathe.

Keep laughing.  Your brain isn't going to be your ally for a little while because addiction has completely rerouted everything to feed the addiction.

You will learn to distinguish 'junkie' talk from Tiffany talk.  Soon you can sleep and pile some more hours on your quit.  Tomorrow is a new day of Freedom.

I hate this. I hate quitting and I hate smoking.

I keep thinking that one act will take this feeling away.

And I know what you're gonna say.... In 20 minutes it will be back. But I never wait for it to come back. I'm smoking another one to AVOID this.

I keep thinking..... Is smoking really THAT bad ? People get cancer ALL THE TIME that have never smoked.

I hate my brain.

I really want to not have to smoke anymore. So I'm thinking positive. I want more energy. I want to live longer and I want to be healthier.

I might even want to be a body builder one day. I doubt it but there's a chance.

You have been an obedient slave to your addiction and the addict is going to whine and kick.

Try replacing junkie thoughts with something simple like looking at your hand, examine your hand... just something to change up your focus.

Take a few Deep Breaths.  Suck on a Cinnamon stick.  Get some oxygen to your brain. Keep up your Blood Sugar !

Go outside and kick and scream.  Do anything but, smoke.

Get some pleasure going on.  Reward yourself.

The chaos you are experiencing is Temporary.

Go write an sos to yourself.

A successful quit starts with one day quit.

A successful body builder starts with one day of moving heavy shit.

See the similarirties?

[A] Start.

[2] One Day.

[iii] Repeat ad infinitum.

Well, over 24 hours smoke free.  Wasn't really that bad.  Had my moments of f*ck this..... I'm gonna smoke.  But then got distracted and went on about my day.

Thought on the way home all the things I liked about today.  I got to hack up part of a lung..... I'm assuming the part that was contaminated.  My cilia got to stand at attention all day.  And I could ride all the way home with my windows up.

Now, tomorrow is a new day and I figure if I can do one day..... I can do two.

'My cilia got to stand at attention all day'

No kidding, your cilia are rejoicing !

"Smokers keep a continuous thermal and chemical burn percolating in their lung linings."

Give yourself time to heal, One Free Day at a time.

Stay focused.  Breathe. Reward yourself. You are quitting smoking.  Congratulations.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
